Would you spend $1,000 on a BAG STRAP? Fendi releases costly new leather accessory

  • The bag straps, which come in a variety of colors and materials, are set to launch in November

Fendi is no stranger to selling overpriced accessories.

Last year, the Italian fashion house launched $1,750 furry key chains to hang from your bag, which Kendall Jenner famously attached to a $2,500 Valentino handbag.

And this year, Fendi is set to release a collection of colorful handbag straps, for $1,000 each.

In November, the brand will launch its Strap You collection of nine two-tone over-the-shoulder straps to personalize any bag of choice.

They will come in a range of bright leathers and exotic skins, with two styles adorned with rainbow-colored studs.

One thing is for sure, Kendall Jenner will certainly be spotted with one slung over her shoulder.

The 19-year-old model revealed her first ad for Fendi on Instagram earlier this week, wearing a large fur coat and clutching a light pink Fendi bag with the aforementioned key chain.

Unfortunately for Kendall, her debut campaign for the brand didn't go down particularly well with its fans.

Rock a puffer like Kendall

Some in the fashion world are up in arms about Fendi's latest ad campaign, but say what you want about Kendall Jenner, she has a fan in Karl Lagerfeld. The Kaiser has been her greatest advocate of late, placing her in both Chanel couture and Fendi's fall ready-to-wear shows. And the veteran and storied designer can't be all wrong.

We love the way she looks in this multicolored puffer coat, holding her own against any professional walker in the industry. Check out the entire Fendi collection on Style.com

Meanwhile, even in the throws of a hot summer, we're already dreaming of our fall wardrobes, puffers particularly. So we've rounded up some options below. We're taken with Moschino's plaid puffer coat at Shopbop and are in love with the bargain buy by 32 Degrees at Macy's. Is it just us, or does that model look like Kendall, too?

Commentators on The Fashion Spot called it 'hands down the worst Fendi campaign I've seen in a while'.

Another added: 'The lighting is on another whole new level of cheapness,' while someone else complained it is a 'great collection ruined by a horrible campaign and a bad model'.

One more commenter chimed in: 'The make-up doesn't suit her... needs someone with cheekbones!!'

Another fashion fan explained bluntly: 'There is no tension in her body. She just stands there. It really bugs me.

'It's almost the 50th anniversary of Karl at Fendi and this is no way to celebrate. That house deserves more and Kendall deserves nothing. She's not a model. Period.'
