And Elle Fanning proved that even gym wear could be stylish.

The 17-year-old actress was spotted rocking a red Rodarte 'Redhearte' sweatshirt while heading to a dance class in Hollywood, California on Tuesday morning.

The Maleficent star looked comfortable as she teamed the chic top with a pair of black and grey running shorts and purple New Balance trainers.

Elle opted to let her porcelain skin breathe as she went make-up free for the occasion and tied up her platinum blonde locks in a messy ponytail.

The actress - born Mary Elle Fanning - will soon be seen as transgender teen called Ray in the indie drama Three Generations alongside Naomi Watts, Susan Sarandon and Tate Donovan.

Most people wear their heart on their sleeve, but Elle Fanning wears hers on her chest. The Maleficent star stepped out in casual gear when she hit the streets of Hollywood in a Rodarte sweatshirt.

Teamed with a pair of running shorts and colorful sneakers, the former child actress put a luxe spin on her active wear. But the graphic print pullover works just as well with stovepipe denim or leather leggings and heels.

Elle told Teen Vogue of the flick which hits theatres September 18: 'Taking this special journey with Ray showed me the human capacity for love, courage, and acceptance,

'Along the way, I came to realise how many transgender people do not experience the same compassion and support, and I hope this film brings more awareness to their struggle.'

The teenage star has been keeping rather busy as she has around ten projects on the horizon.

One of the other highly-anticipated upcoming films is titled The Neon Demon as she plays a young woman who is the envy of all other models and actresses in Hollywood and is soon devoured by these beauty obsessed women.

The movie is helmed by director Nicolas Winding Refn and cast includes Christina Hendricks, Keanu Reeves, Abbey Lee, Jenna Malone and Jamie Clayton. The Neon Demon is set for release in March 2016.

Elle kicked off her career in showbusiness as a toddler, playing the younger versions of her now 21-year-old sister, Dakota, who also was a child actress.

At age seven, Dakota had her breakout role in 2001's I Am Sam and Elle played a younger version of her character Lucy Diamond Dawson, before finding fame in Daddy Day Care and We Bought A Zoo.

In 2011, Elle went on to play the strong-minded Cleo in Sofia Coppola's film Somewhere, for which she won the Young Hollywood's Actress of the Year award.
