She was relentlessly promoting her fifth studio album only one month ago. 

And after a break from the press rounds, Hilary Duff was out to grab attention yet again when she stepped out in a striking animal print maxi dress on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old emerged from a lunch date at Joan's on Third in Studio City, armed with a pair of metallic print sunglasses.

Hilary was a sight for sore eyes when she stepped out with her blonde hair styled in a wild hairdo, with a handful of her strands pinned back to unveil her flawlessly made up face.

A turquoise belt hunt loosely around her slender waistline, while a pair of metallic gold sandals finished off the summery look. 

Even in her hard-to-miss number, Hilary didn't shy away from piling on the accessories.

Forget tote bags, they're totes not the trend right now...ok they still are BUT buckets are making a COMEBACK!

Not only are the old school bucket hats making a comeback but the bucket bags are too!

Be cautious though, some bags look like a pail and all you would need to complete the look is a shovel.(Anyone recall a Blues Clues moment?)

Hilary took an extended career break when she tied the knot with ice hockey player Mike Comrie and became a mother to their three-year-old son Luca, but the actress filed for divorce in February after five years.

The actress recently spoke about separating from the 34-year-old former hockey player.

In March, she told Cosmopolitan of the split and her ex: 'It wasn't working well enough to stay together, but there was still a lot of love involved.

'It was just a slow set-in of us not being the match that we used to be,' she added. 'I'm lucky for the person he is and I am and how we decided to handle this.'

Focusing on her career, the star made her musical comeback last year with her album, Breathe In. Breathe Out.

She's also returned to acting in force, with a feature role in the TV series, Younger, while she will return to the big screen in Path Of Redemption.

The film - due in September 2016 - also stars Danny Trejo, and pits a young man against the gang who raised him after murdering his parents.
