Known for her long luscious mane, Jennifer Lopez has reverted to a shorter and edgier style for her latest project that keeps on getting shorter.

The 45-year-old, who unveiled her new choppy bob in an Instagram snap on Tuesday, continued to showcase the fresh look when she stepped out in New York City earlier on that day to film upcoming drama Shades Of Blue.

While she looked pretty, Jennifer wasn't rocking her usual glamour on set, wearing a slouchy pair of trousers, a plunging white blouse and a nude trench coat.

Making her way along the streets in the rain, Jennifer was also joined on set by her co-star Ray Liotta.

The superstar had unveiled the dramatic new do' in a smouldering online social media picture as she pouted for the camera in the back of a car.

She captioned the image with the words: 'Short hair don't care...' as she looked incredible in a cobalt blue dress with mesh sleeves.

Jennifer's new crop makes her look far younger than her years and she was sporting a heavily made up appearance for the unveiling with metallic smoky eyes and a pale lipgloss.

She also added a disco vibe with a set of diamond hoop earrings as she puckered up for the picture which she shared with her 22.9million followers.

She stars alongside Ray (Bill Wozniak) and Drea (Detective Shirley Nazario).
