The stakes were high when Krysten Ritter was spotted filming Marvel's Jessica Jones in New York City.

Krysten, 33, shot scenes outside of a burning building, where her co-star Mike Colter laid helpless after making a harrowing escape from the inferno.

While it was Mike's stunt double who exited the building ablaze, the actor, 38, appeared wiped-out as he laid beside the crackling fire.

Before Mike recovered on the floor, his double was spotted just beside an open door with his back completely engulfed in flames.

The stunt man hurried outside of the building before doubling over as the fire began consuming him.

Krysten's character appeared desperate for help and frantically shouted as she comforted Mike following his horrific experience.

That same day, Krysten took a break from the high intensity of Jessica Jones with a refreshing snack.

The raven haired beauty bit into a juicy piece of watermelon while sporting a distressed pair of jeans and a grey sweatshirt.

Krysten then blew off some steam as she headed inside her trailer by flashing a silly pose beside a pal.

The Breaking Bad actress has been hard at work filming Jessica Jones recently.

The new Marvel series - in partnership with Netflix - is said to follow the fallen hero as she patches up her career as a detective, while working with people on the job gifted with extraordinary abilities.

Krysten appears alongside Doctor Who star David Tennant in the series, which was originally being filmed under the working title Violet.

A clapper board revealed that the series was being dubbed 'Violet', though Marvel recently confirmed to Comicbook.com that it was going by the name Marvel's Jessica Jones.

The hotly anticipated series comes as part of a list of scheduled releases by Netflix, based on Marvel heroes The Defenders: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.

Daredevil premiered on Netflix on April 1, and Jessica Jones is expected to follow later on in the year.

The new show began filming in February and in preparation, Krysten said she had become hooked on the Jessica Jones comic books that she was reading up on.
