Alexa Chung showcases her long legs in chic black mini-skirt and pussybow blouse to host exclusive fashion dinner

She's sits front row at almost every major Fashion Week show.

But Alexa Chung was hosting her own fashion event on Tuesday night as she celebrated AG's Autumn/Winter '15 Collection launch with a private dinner at the Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings in London's Clerkenwell.

The 31-year-old model was sure to turn heads in a chic black ensemble that ensured her long legs were on full display.

The TV presenter looked typically stylish in a black pussybow blouse, which was emblazoned with white polka dots, a suede button-up mini-skirt and a pair of chunky black sandals with pretty bow detailing.

The blue-eyed star wore her caramel brown locks in soft waves around her face and opted for a minimal make-up style with a soft rouged cheek, a subtle nude lip and a few coatings of mascara.

The bash was attended by a series of fashion insiders including model Jack Guiness, Chris Gove, the founder of menswear brand Percival, and i-D magazine's Senior Fashion Editor Julia Sarr Jamois.

Show your softer side in a suede skirt like Alexa's

When it comes to style icons, Alexa Chung is up there with the likes of Kate Moss and Olivia Palermo. So it's hardly a surprise her debut collection for AG Jeans was super successful!

Happily she's back for more and here she is modelling one of her own designs from the AW15 line. Check out her A-line mini skirt, which she teamed with some Saint Laurent platform heels and a personalised Edie Parker clutch. We love the button front and buttery soft suede texture, but the downside of stealing Alexa's style is that it doesn't come cheap!

This retro little mini will set you back $748 but it's totally an investment worthy piece to buy at Anthropolgie right now.

Suede skirts have been everywhere this season, but the trend looks set to last long into Autumn/Winter. So with Alexa in mind, shop the options we've found for you on the high street for a fraction of the price of the real deal!

Alexa looked to be having a blast at the soiree, particularly when she was handed a custom-made clutch bag that had her name plastered across the front in a sparkling gold font.

Following her successful capsule collection with AG Jeans last summer, the style icon has once again teamed up with the fashion house to launch a new fall collection, which will be available to purchase from July 23.

Speaking about her new collection on the AG website, Alexa writes: 'This collection was inspired by an imaginary girl gang – a gaggle of delinquents charging across the desert. I don’t know where they came from, I’m not sure where they’re going… But this is what they’re wearing.’

Tuesday night's dinner came the same day as the British beauty - who is enjoying a low-key relationship with True Blood actor Alexander Skarsgard - released a promotional clip for a new YouTube documentary series by British Vogue.

The clip sees the fashion journalist, who is a contributing editor for the iconic magazine, reminiscing, joking and even playfully squeezing her breasts together in the video series that will explore the state of fashion today.

In the voiceover, Alexa says: 'I've been working in fashion since I was 15 and the thing that I've found is that people are very dismissive of fashion in general.

'Like it's always seen as folly or it has connotations of vanity or indulgence and all of these things when actually it's occupied and driven by people who are highly creative, highly intelligent.'

She added: 'There's a perception of it being the only bit that you see on Instagram during fashion week, which is Champagne, a party, and a lovely bird in a dress.

Presented by Alexa, the video series will see the model talking to everyone from current fashion students to the heads of major design houses, journalists and buyers.
