Whilst some women would love a little helping hand in the height department, for some women, being tall is the bane of their life.

Indeed, TLC's latest reality series, My Giant Life, chronicles the daily lives of four women who stand 6ft 6in or taller and often struggle with everyday tasks.

One of the show's stars is Lindsay, who clocks in at 6ft 9in, and tells her face in the five-part series, which premiered in the US on July 14.

The 27-year-old actress and former wrestler from Los Angeles gets her height from her father, whom she hasn't seen since she was 11-years-old.

And while the series will document her quest to locate him, it also highlights how mundane tasks, such as getting on an airplane, can be difficult for Lindsay and her co-stars because of their extreme height.

Speaking in a teaser clip for the show, Lindsay said: 'I shouldn't have to feel self-conscious about walking onto an airplane, but I do because I know... that everybody on that plane is like "I hope I don't have to sit next to her".'

In one clip teasing the episode ahead, Lindsay can be seen towering over other passengers while riding the airport shuttle. And things prove to be even more difficult for her when it comes to boarding the plane

'I am just a normal girl,' says Lindsay. 'I just want normal girl things. I want love, respect, happiness'

TLC explores new heights in new show My Giant Life

Lindsay, who holds the Guinness World Record for Tallest Actress in a Leading Role, has difficulty when she attempts to board a plane on the show.

She is forced to carry her suitcase over her shoulder because she is unable to crouch over and roll it down the aisle.

'I feel like just one simple thing such as going to the airport, getting on an airplane, getting off the airplane and going to your next destination is so much more complicated because I am so tall,' she said of her ordeal.

'All I want to do is just put my bags in the overheard bin and just get to my seat because everyone is staring at me when I am standing up in the aisle.'

Meanwhile, Colleen, who goes by the name of Coco, is a 6'6" former professional volleyball player who also stars in the show

Colleen is on the hunt for a boyfriend as she prepares to move to San Diego

She can be seen enjoying a rollerblading date with a man, whom she towers over

Lindsay expresses her frustration at the situation and explains that she just wants to be treated like everyone else, regardless of her height.

'I am just a normal girl,' she said. 'I just want normal girl things. I want love, respect, happiness.'

Another star of the show is 6ft 6in Colleen, a former professional volleyball player, who is on the hunt for a boyfriend as she prepares to move to San Diego, which is all documented on the show.

Colleen can be seen enjoying rollerblading and cycling dates with men much shorter than she is.

Teenager Nancy, 16, is also 6ft 9in and is still in high school

The teen showcases her impressive height as she tries on dresses ahead of her school prom

The teen, who towers above two women in the shop, is asked what kind of dress she's looking for, to which she replies 'anything long'

She plays basketball but also struggles with everyday things like learning to drive as she can't fit her long legs in most cars.

There's also Haleigh, who is 6ft 7in and is dating 5ft 8in Bryan. The couple are planning on getting married - much to the chagrin of her father, who thinks Bryan will 'taint the gene pool'.
