She has been spending time in the studio in recent weeks, working on her highly-anticipated third album - but Ellie Goulding put some time aside from her busy schedule to spend some time with her beloved boyfriend Dougie Poynter.

The 28-year-old songstress, who has been dating the McBusted rocker for over a year, was seen arriving back in London with her beau after a whirlwind trip to Stockholm, Sweden on Wednesday evening.

Unable to hide her smile, the pretty blonde looked effortlessly chic in her all-black getup, consisting of skintight jeans, a tailored coat and a plain blouse.

She added a touch of rock glam to her ensemble with burgundy leather boots, while winged eyeliner and and blush-tinted cheeks rounded off the proceedings perfectly.

Dougie, 27, cut an equally fashionable figure in his animal-printed jacket and black skinnies, which was styled further with a white T-shirt and embellished ankle boots.

Meanwhile, it appears as if the city trip was far too short for the lovebirds - after jetting in the day before - as Ellie took to her social media sites to post a snap with the words: ‘Pretty evening in Stockholm. I don't want to leave!’

Both Ellie and Dougie have become inseparable over the last year, having met at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Of The Year Awards in December 2013.

The blonde stunner has since hinted that a wedding could be on the cards for the stars.

She revealed to Elle magazine last month that Calvin Harris, who Ellie recently love matched with her pal Taylor Swift, has already offered his DJ services for their wedding, even though they don't have one planned just yet.

Speaking to the magazine as June's cover girl, Ellie said: 'Calvin Harris has already offered to play at our wedding, not that we've organised one. But the offer has been made.'

Elsewhere, at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in June, Dougie hinted that an engagement to his long-term girlfriend is highly likely.

Asked how he felt about Ellie claiming she was 'punching above her weight' in the relationship, Dougie told MailOnline: 'I mean, it's rubbish. She's beautiful and talented... just incredible.'

When pressed further on whether wedding bells could be the next step, he said with a smile: 'Well... I don't want to say too much. It would ruin the surprise.'
