Your move, Michael Strahan! Hugh Jackman pokes fun at the American TV host's snake-skin shoes by wearing an actual reptile

Hugh Jackman is attempting to one-up American host Michael Strahan by donning a real live snake.

Yesterday the retired NFL star posted a snap of his new animal skin shoes, captioning the shot: 'Had to finally unwrap my custom 1 of 1 Air Force One Customs.'

He added that the silver-coloured trainers were made from a combination of python, shark, lambskin and eel material but Wolverine star Hugh upped the ante and wore a live reptile around his neck.

In a cheeky response to Michael's photo, Hugh took to his own Instagram to post a photo of himself wearing a live snake wrapped around his neck.

'What's the problem Michael Strahan?' the Hollywood actor captioned his photo.

Hugh has appeared several times on the American morning show, including a 2014 appearance where the hosts played a hilarious game of Hugh-In, Hugh-Out.

This week, the star and his family are in Australia, where they are said to be trekking the 462.8km long journey from Alice Springs - where he was spotted renting a car- to Uluru.

Kat Kostalas, a Thrifty Car Rental sales officer, described the shock of seeing the Australian actor at the rental counter.

'I was so nervous that I didn’t get to say anything to him,' she told the NT News

She did, however, ask Hugh to pose for a photo, which she later posted to Twitter.

In the photo, Hugh wears a brown felt hat, similar to one he would have worn as his character the Drover in Baz Luhrmann's 2009 hit film Australia.

Hugh recently announced Wolverine 3, set to be released in 2017, will be his final performance playing the iconic character that put him on the Hollywood map.
