Lily Allen has hired an £80-an-hour personal trainer to help her fight the signs of ageing - on her face.

The 30-year-old Smile hit maker has been 'working out' at a specialist gym where clients are put through a finger-led facelift that acts like a 'natural Botox'.

Mother-of-two Lily posted a photograph of herself at the Face Gym in central London on her Instagram page, alongside the caption: 'Putting in the hours @face_gym #tiring (sic).'

Customers are offered half-hour £40 treatments which include a warm-up, cardio, advanced training and a cool down.

They can also seek help for specific problem areas including the scalp, brows, cheeks and jaw.

Face Gym founder Inge Theron previously told FEMAIL: 'Face Gym is grounded in the principle that we don't think twice about toning our muscles at the gym so why think differently about the face?

'Face Gym goes beyond the skin - our face trainers work deep into the muscles around key problem areas such as jowls, eyes and foreheads.'

Pop star Lily revealed she had signed up for the face-pulling sessions two months after her 30th birthday.

Journalist Inge Theron spent years travelling the world unearthing global beauty secrets.

She decided to combine her beauty knowledge with her love of fitness to create the world's first face gym, a non-invasive finger-led facelift that recreates a typical gym workout with a warm-up, interval training and cool down stage.

Speaking to MailOnline about the concept, which launched in Selfridges, Inge explained that she has suffered several distressing treatments over the years so wanted to go back to basics and swap injections for good old-fashioned face massage.

She said: 'Facial muscles are crucial to the way we look and with regular stimulation can lift, tone and tighten the skin, boost blood circulation and collagen production giving a fresh youthful appearance to the skin.

'There are over 650 muscles in the human body with roughly 50 concentrated in the face, it takes approximately 43 to frown, 17 to smile, but without proper stimulation, face muscles are prone to sagging.

Inge and her team use facial flicking, pummeling and fast finger movements to lift the cheeks, drain excess fluid from under the eyes and work on fine lines.

The session promises to deliver results immediately, but Inge recommends going once a week for very visible results.

Meanwhile Lily Allen has recently spoken out about her skin ailments, sharing a photograph of a breakout with her Instagram fans in May.

Clearly irritated with her spotty skin, she captioned the close-up image of her face: 'How is it fair that I get acne at 30 ? #1stworldproblems.'

Covering her spots as best she could with concealer, the singer managed to give the snap a bit of glamour with a trendy sparkling earring.
