He's got specs appeal! Hunky Simon Baker, 45, has still got it as he wears his signature thick-rimmed frames and dresses up for Sydney soiree

He's celebrating the go-ahead of his next work, a film based on the novel, Breath.

And on Thursday evening Simon Baker appeared in good spirits as he attended this year's Art of Music Live event, held at the Sydney Opera House.

Being one of Australia's most successful Hollywood exports - having stared in The Mentalist from 2008 - 2015, not to mention having numerous film credits under his belt - the actor rubbed shoulders with the who's who of the Australian music industry at the shindig.

The 45-year-old actor appeared to be enjoying the night, hobnobbing with the likes of Jimmy and Mahalia Barnes and Reece Mastin, who both attended.

Simon was seen on the red carpet, posing alongside New Zealand singer and songwriter Jenny Morris, 58.

The star dressed up his dark wash jeans and braved the chill in a stylish trench coat which he teamed with a shirt and jumper underneath.

He wore his trademark dark frames at the event and appeared to have styled his longer blonde locks neatly to the side.

He also rocked a growing beard, that he has in recent months maintained since finishing up The Mentalist.

It appeared Simon left his family, including wife Rebecca Rigg, 47, and children Stella, 21, Claude, 16, and 13-year-old Harry, at home, stepping out solo for the affair.
