The stars have been championing the one-piece, which has been updated for summer with sliced away sides and scissored sections, on recent getaways.

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here star Nadia Forde lead the trend during a recent holiday to Ibiza.

The Irish model was seen soaking up the sunshine at the ME Ibiza hotel in a skimpy statement bikini, which showed off her incredible body.

The tanned and toned brunette chose a head-turning swimsuit for the scorching heat, risking some unfortunate tan lines in her strappy number.

With the black swimsuit criss-crossing over her toned stomach and hips, the halter-neck design showcased Nadia's model body.

Earlier this year, Millie Mackintosh, who works hard to maintain her trim figure, also championed the style

The star looked sensational in a white cut-out swimsuit, which perfectly highlighted her slim physique.

Vogue Williams, who this week announced she is separating from Brian McFadden, has also been sharing some sultry selfies donning the design.

Originally pioneered by Agent Provocateur, the multi-strap costume is now a seriously hot alternative to the standard bikini.

Dodgy tan lines aside, the straps have a contouring effect that draw attention to the smallest part of your waist, while the halter straps and keyhole detail make the best of your assets.

Millie Mackintosh, who works hard to maintain her trim figure, also loves the look and shared a snap of herself modelling a white, left, and black version, right, on Instagram

Want to emulate the stars' look? The slashkini is infiltrating the high street. Lipsy has the widest selection, which it dubs 'the lattice monokini' and sells for £35 in black or white.

Describing the item on its website, Lipsy say: 'Whether you're around the pool or on a beach feel glamorous in our range. Make an entrance in this monokini featuring lattice detail, add oversized sunglasses and sandals to complete your glamorous look.'

For a more upmarket offering, Hervé Léger applies its bandage paneling to a £585 figure sculpting swimsuit, whilst Matthew Williams has trialled the trend in a subtle fashion for his Butterfly range at Debenhams.

Discussing the trend, fashion expert and founder of Wantherwardrobe.com, Lydia Jones, said: 'Poolside glam has never been so sexy as it has this summer, with many high street shops replicating the lingerie styles of leading brands such as Agent Provocateur and La Perla.

'The slashed and cut-out designs of swimsuits and bikinis are the hottest trend for every poolside party this season, whether you're living in up in Marbella or partying the night away in Ibiza.

'For extra body confidence, Want Her Wardrobe suggests investing in a bandage cut-out swimsuit as this is great for contouring your figure and holding you in at all the right places.'
