On Thursday, Cara Delevingne showcased her surprising talent on The Tonight Show with host Jimmy Fallon and house band The Roots where she promoted her acting debut Paper Towns.

In true fashion It girl style, the 22-year-old British beauty donned a pair of crystal adorned high-waisted trousers by French label Balmain for her first major late night appearance.

Cara made a statement in the twinkly black trousers which she styled with a simple black long sleeve top.

Her eye-catching ensemble even caught the eye of the Saturday Night Live alum as he marveled over her fashion choice.

'Wow,' Jimmy said as the Suicide Squad star added: 'These pants weigh more than me!'

Cara has previously hit the talk show circuit in her native UK, promoting Paper Towns on the Graham Norton Show among others. But The Tonight Show was her first major film promotion as an actress.

'This is crazy, being here is the weirdest thing in the world,' Cara said. 'I wanted to do this since I came out of the womb!'

In addition to the John Green-created film, Cara teased her supervillain flick Suicide Squad in which she plays Enchantress.

And while she further advances her acting career, the girlfriend of St Vincent proved she is a jack of all trades.

This isn't the first time, the Brit has showcased her party trick.

Chanel collaborator and famed music producer Pharrell featured his good friends Cara and Justin Timberlake on his Apple Music radio station OTHERtone, where she contributed her impressive musical skills.

2015 will no doubt be a memorable year for Cara, and not just in the fashion world.

Along with her many high-fashion catwalks and countless beauty endorsements to come, the multi-talented star will be starring in the upcoming films: Suicide Squad, Pan, London Fields, Kids In Love, and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.

With rising stardom comes scrutiny about her personal life, including her romantic relationship with her partner St Vincent, 32.

She opened up about her romance with the American recording artist for the first time in a candid interview with Vogue magazine in June.

But the in-depth feature sparked backlash when its writer Rob Haskell implied Cara's bisexuality was just a 'phase', which led to 12,500 people signing a petition demanding the magazine issue an apology.

Now, Cara has given her side of the story, insisting that while she found nothing 'malicious' in Vogue's words, her sexuality definitely isn't a phase

She's been practically inseparable from Vincent - birth name Annie Clarke - for the past few months.

'My sexuality is not a phase. I am who I am,' Cara told The New York Times in response to the Vogue interview.

She added that her girlfriend has helped her become a better actress. She told the NY Times that a major challenge of acting has been learning to block out all the distractions in her chaotic life.

'Being in love helps, you know?' she explained. 'If you're in love with someone, you can be with them like no one else is in the room. Acting is like that. It's like taking that feeling and turning it on so nothing else matters when you're looking in another actor's face.'
