Charlize Theron and Emily Blunt dress as sultry fairytale beauties in sweeping gowns and long blonde wigs as they film scenes for The Huntsman

Screen sirens Charlize Theron and Emily Blunt were seen filming a maudlin funeral scene for their latest project, the fairytale flick The Huntsman on Thursday.

The beautiful actresses were seen on set in full costume for the very first time, as filming for the prequel to 2012's Snow White And The Huntsman continued in England's historic countryside.

Charlize, 39, and Emily, 32, looked striking in their flowing fantasy attire, as they filmed a funeral scene for the grim and glamorous twist on the story of Snow White at Wells Cathedral, Somerset.

The film, in which Chris Hemsworth reprises his titular role of the Huntsman, sees Charlize once again playing the vain and vampish Queen Ravenna.

And it was little surprise to see the blonde bombshell donning a malevolent and dark costume to thrust herself into the role of the witch.

Sporting a jet black, spiked crown with hints of gold atop her flowing blonde mane, Charlize - clearly in character - threw steely and imperious glares as she walked behind Emily.

Her costume for the mourning scene was a typically glamorous twist on medieval attire, with the Devil's Advocate actress wearing a grey and black gown with a black lace shawl wrapped around her arms.

While Charlize glided around in her role as the usurping bane of Snow White's life, Emily also cut a stylishly sinister figure.

Although a lot about her role in the film is unknown, the English rose is apparently set to play an evil character alongside that of Ravenna.

With her hair a dyed a striking shade of silver, and her pretty features coated in pale tones of make-up, the Edge Of Tomorrow star looked the very definition of a fairytale Ice Queen.

Wearing a sweeping silver dress, with gold and bronze details, Emily's costume only emphasised the nature of her supposedly evil character, as she also donned a pair of grey hunting gloves.

But while their characters are set to be the villainous undoing of Snow White's future happiness, the actresses couldn't help but slip back to their regular warm and friendly natures as they shared a joke in-between takes.

Little is known about the plot-line for the prequel to Rupert Saunders' re-imagining of Snow White, but the grim tale of the evil queen's usurping rise to power is set to centre around the exploits of Chris Hemsworth's Huntsman.
