News that she was expecting her second bundle of joy emerged just last month.

And Australian-born actress Melissa George showed off her growing baby bump for the very first time as she stepped out in Los Angeles on Thursday.

The 38-year-old beauty, who stars in the TV mini-series The Slap alongside Uma Thurman, stepped out in a billowing sundress as she grabbed lunch in Beverly Hills.

Melissa teamed her loose-fitting light green frock with cork and white strapped wedges and a wide floppy hat.

The Perth-born star had her long locks tied back in a low ponytail and she accessorised with hoop earrings and a giant tan Hermes Birkin bag.

She revealed her pregnancy glow by going relatively makeup free.

At times, it appeared the former Alias actress attempted to shield her midsection with her giant designer handbag as she strolled down the street.

It was reported that Melissa was expecting her second bub with her French entrepreneur partner, 47-year-old Jean-David Blanc, just last month.

The pair are already proud parents to their 17-month-old son, Raphael Blanc, who they welcomed into the world in February last year.
