Jennifer Lawrence takes aim at the Capitol in the latest teaser trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2

Excitement for the final part of The Hunger Games is so high, even its trailers have trailers.

The new worldwide trailer for Mockingjay Part 2 is not set to release for another seven days

But as the world holds is breath for the final showdown between Katniss and President Snow, Lionsgate have unveiled a teaser just to get fervent fans through the week.

The 15 second clip shows the Capitol in flames, as Jennifer Lawrence leads her band of rebels into the heart of Panem.

In the final shot the crowds gather behind her as she takes aim with her bow at something - or someone - tantalisingly out of shot.

'In one week: the worldwide trailer release,' the brief clip teases, as Katniss Everdeen defiantly walks up the Capitol's central boulevard.

 In the final chapter of the mega-successful franchise, the 'girl on fire' teams up with her closest friends Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) on the crucial mission to assassinate Donald Sutherland's tyrannical President Snow.

At last weekend's Comic-Con in San Diego, fans got to see the cast together for the final time.

'What I like about these movies is that they take the entire world, and they condense it into this one continent, and they take all of these issues and one girl, who took it in her hands,' Jennifer said at the packed-out panel.

'The changes that happened in my life from doing these movies are so permanent that I don't think I'll ever really say goodbye, it'll always be a part of me,' Jennifer said.

The Hunger Games franchise, which has taken some $2.2 billion at the global box office since 2012, helped make the Oscar-winning star one of Hollywood's most sought-after actresses.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 hits UK theatres on November 19, and releases in the US the following day.
