Stephen Fry, 57, and husband Elliot Spencer, 27, enjoy romantic stroll after lunchtime date in New York

They're fast becoming one of Britain's celebrity power couples, attending high-profile events in London, such as Wimbledon.

But Stephen Fry, 54, and his husband Elliot Spencer, 27, looked as if they were enjoying a more low-key outing in New York City, as the couple took a romantic stroll on Friday.

With the summer sun beating down on them, they looked to be enjoying their stroll in the Big Apple's trendy SoHo area.

National treasure, Stephen, looked in robust form as usual, as he enjoyed a post-lunch stroll alongside his young husband - who is 30 years his junior.

The British comedian dressed casually for the couple's afternoon date, teaming a long-sleeved, lime green polo shirt with some baggy, navy trousers.

Stephen, whose silvery locks were styled in their usual ruffled manner, rounded off his look with a pair of canvas trainers.

Elliot, meanwhile, looked the epitome of an edgy, youthful funny-man - styling his summer ensemble with a denim theme.

Wearing black jeans teamed with a denim blue shirt, which featured navy sleeves, the young comedian went for a similar laid-back approach as his husband.

The couple, who married earlier this year, were seen doing the rounds in SoHo's many fashion shops.

Their latest holiday this summer follows a break in Malta in June, and outings around London including a visit to the tennis at Wimbledon.

Although their busy social calendar could be hinting that the spouses are trying to get in as many romantic outings alone before possibly welcoming a child together.

Last month Stephen discussed his desire to have children with his husband in an interview with HELLO! magazine, admitting the besotted pair have no time to waste.

He said: 'We sort of talk about it and I suddenly think, "Oh my goodness I'm such an age now," but actually that's rather good, but we better get on with it if we do.'

But while a baby might be partially on Stephen's brain, the staunch Brit couldn't help but jokingly bemoan the fact that he was missing out on some classic sporting action.

Taking to Twitter earlier this week, the keen social media advocate wrote: 'What sort of person would go to New York and miss #TheOpen [the international golf tournament in Scotland] and the 2nd test at Lord’s? A traitorous renegade, a bounder and a beast.'

Stephen and Elliot tied the knot in Norfolk, in January this year, just days after announcing their engagement after enjoying a whirlwind romance - having met last summer.
