The pictures have ruffled some feathers in the fashion industry and Tilda revealed to Vogue magazine recently that she had been asked to tone her account down.

She said: ‘I’ve been called out a couple of times for [my Instagram] not being professional enough, I guess now people are learning to accept it.

‘It’s not changing. I don’t take anything I post too seriously and I hope no one else does either.’

Like Cara, the model is refreshingly unaffected by her looks and is quite happy to post unattractive pictures of herself online.

In fact, she told W Magazine that her favourite type of picture to post on her Instagram page is her at an unflattering angle.

Her advice for wannabe social media stars hoping to emulate her success is not to take herself too seriously.

And the worst thing to post? According to her interview with W: ‘Healthy food that most likely isn’t even tasty.’

While many of her pictures attracts tens of thousands of likes, her personal favourite is one that she took in Paris earlier this year.

She told Dazed magazine: ‘I am very happy with this one photo I once took in Paris of two women, who stopped on the sidewalk to pull out a map, and placed it on top of this elderly woman's head while she was sitting down.

‘Sounds lame, it's not.’
