It emerged this week that Louis Tomlinson is expecting a child with Los Angeles-based stylist Briana Jungwirth following a brief relationship and his own estranged father is desperate to be involved.

Troy Austin, who split from Louis's mother Johannah when the 23-year-old One Direction singer was just five years old, insisted that he wants to make amends for their strained relationship by being part of the baby's life.

He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: 'I'd like to be involved in my grandchild's life. I've missed out on Louis' life and I'd like to make up for that. It's time to heal the rift.

The 46-year-old hotel worker saw little of Louis growing up as they lived at opposite ends of the United Kingdom, and haven't spoken to each other for three years after an angry call.

Louis is one of seven siblings and he took his stepfather Mark Tomlinson's surname when he was younger, although his mum Johannah remarried again to Doctor Dan Deakin in July 2014.

Meanwhile, Briana's father Joe is also looking forward to his first grandchild, and has said he'll support his 23-year-old daughter and the Little Things hitmaker.

The 56-year-old construction worker told DailyMailOnline: 'It's all good.'

However, Briana's stepmother fears having a baby with Louis will 'ruin' the stylist's life.

Briana is around three months pregnant with the Story of My Life singer's first child and Karen Lawrence is worried about the backlash she has already received from the group's fans.

She said: 'I'm distressed for all the c**p I've read online in the middle of the night.

'It's exciting for us and, you know, it's unusual and very strange. But last night in the middle of the night in my anxiety I was like, I'm not gonna look again, because it's too weird these days, what things are said on Twitter, it's just crazy stuff.'

A mutual friend of the pair insists that while Louis and the stylist aren't in a relationship, the singer will be a 'hands-on dad' when their baby arrives early next year.

The pair were introduced through mutual friends a few months ago following Louis' split from his long-term girlfriend Eleanor Calder in March.

'Louis is happy and very excited about becoming a dad and he thinks Briana will be an amazing mother. It was a surprise at first, but he and Briana are very, very close friends and this has brought them even closer,' the source has told People.

She was introduced to Louis by a mutual friend earlier this year, with the pair pictured on a string of nights out together in May.

The pretty blonde is thought to live in Calabasas, California, the same exclusive neighbourhood where the Kardashians reside.

Louis is reportedly house-hunting in the area to be close to her.

Described as 'a very private person', Briana is not thought to have any social media accounts and doesn't even appear to have a Facebook page.

Sources claim she only attended her first One Direction concert recently and is not interested in his fame.

She is not in a relationship with Louis, with a mutual pal describing the two as simply 'close friends'.

Briana is also said to get on very well with Louis' parents, and she spent the July 4th weekend hanging out with his mother Johannah and stepfather Dan after they flew to the US meet up.

'They are both really happy and although they aren't in a relationship, their friendship is extremely strong and they are both really excited about the baby. It's early days and Briana and the baby's health are the most important things right now,' adds the friend.

A representative for Louis had 'no comment' on the report when contacted by MailOnline.

Louis was seen holding hands with the American beauty, also 23, as he left the Snoop Dogg album release party on 12 May in Los Angeles.

A source told The Mirror at the time of their relationship: 'Louis is mainly in LA to work on 1D's new album but he is also making sure he is having plenty of fun.

'His friend gets on with her friend, so they've all been hanging out together. He is young and single, so why not?'

The pair were pictured on a night out at The Argyle in California in early May before another night of partying days later at Project L.A. in Los Angeles.

Louis and the pretty stylist, who is said to be 'a very private' person, were also seen leaving Snoop Dogg's CD release bash in West Hollywood a few days later holding hands in the back of their ride home.

Louis, who has spent much of his recent time off from the band in LA, is reportedly already making plans ahead of the birth, and has been on the hunt for properties near Briana in California.

According to The Sun, Briaina is around 11 weeks pregnant and Louis has been by her side every step of the way, flying to LA to join her for the baby scan.

The Doncaster-born star is said to be 'really excited' about the news and is being 'protective' of his former flame, who he has remained great friends with.

An insider told the paper: 'It was obviously a surprise but they are both really happy. Louis really cares about Briana and thinks she will be a great mum. Their friendship has got even stronger through this.'

The Brit singer's mother Johannah and step-father Dan have also reportedly met Briana's parents, with an insider claiming the two families enjoyed a July 4 weekend together.

Louis' mum Johannah, a midwife, is a mother of seven and gave birth to twins Ernest and Doris in February 2014, but this will be her first grandchild.

The singer is currently in the middle of One Direction's On The Road Again world tour with the band due to play in Seattle on Wednesday night before the tour winds up in October.

News of the pregnancy comes just two weeks after Louis was pictured cosying up to model Tamara Bell at Glastonbury.

Elsewhere, it appears as if the British star is not ready to settle down with anyone at the moment after new reports suggest he's been busy juggling three other girls.

'Despite having a baby with Briana, Louis is still juggling at least three other girls right now,' a source told HollywoodLife.com. 'He's really enjoying the single life right now and has no plans on settling down anytime soon.'

Louis's impending fatherhood comes just four months after he split from Manchester University graduate Eleanor Calder after four years together.

His split with dancer Eleanor was only made public when he was pictured kissing brunette student Lucy Julian, 20, while on holiday in Thailand in March.

At the time, his rep said: 'Louis and Eleanor split up two weeks ago. They have not announced this as they wanted some privacy during this time.'

It was also claimed that Calder flew 20,000 miles to Australia in a final bid to save her relationship with the star and work through their 'differences'.

This news of Louis' impending fatherhood will no doubt come as a surprise to Eleanor on the eve of her 23rd birthday.

Since confirming he was single, Louis has been hitting the party scene hard and has regularly been photographed leaving nightclubs with a variety of pretty women.

While Eleanor has yet to comment on the news, Louis' mum Johannah has been busy on her Twitter page, sharing a charity appeal link after the news on her son's impending fatherhood broke, though she has yet to comment on the baby reports.

The mother-of-seven also tweeted a gushing message about her son on Friday, writing: '10/7/10 my boy left his home with a packed lunch & a dream. 5 years on & still the same boy & still my best friend'.

Johannah, a midwife, is said to be thrilled at the prospect of becoming a grandmother, with a source telling The Sun she has been offering Briana advice about her pregnancy.

If the reports are true, it means Louis will be the first member of the boy band to become a father.

His bandmate Liam Payne is the only bandmember in a serious, long-term relationship, currently dating Sophia Smith.

Louis's former bandmate Zayn Malik, who quit the group in March, is engaged to Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards.

Aside from his pop star career, Louis is also a keen footballer and has played for his hometown team Doncaster Rovers as a reserve.
