Everything has changed but their love for each other: Couple celebrates their 40th anniversary by recreating romantic photos from their wedding day - and even managed to fit into the same outfits!

  • The sweet images were posted on Reddit by the couple's son
  • In the photos, the wife wore her wedding dress, while her husband wore a jacket that she had made for him before they married

A couple celebrated their 40th anniversary by recreating their wedding photos, while wearing the same outfits that they wore on that happy day all those years ago.

Posted onto Reddit by the couple's son, who goes by the username magic976, the new images see the US-based couple posing outside the home that they have shared for more than 30 years, while the original photos were taken at the Reddit user's grandparents' house.

'1975 photos are from my grandparents house,' he commented on the images, which have thus far received more than 200 comments on Reddit. 'The current photos are from my parents house, which they have lived in for over 30 years.'

Two of the images see the couple posing on a motorbike - although the model has changed somewhat since the original snaps were taken! - while another features the couple gazing into each other's eyes while standing in front of a tree in the garden.

The Redditor also noted that both of his parents are wearing the same outfits that they wore when they married; his mother donned the wedding dress that she handmade for her ceremony, while his dad is wearing the same jacket - also handmade by his wife.

His mother did, however, opt for a new hat.

Asked to reveal how his parents first met, the man wrote: '[My dad] was smooth. They met in a bar called The Lower Level and his first words to here were "You wanna Boogie?"

'If that isn't the start to a great love story, I don't know what is.'

One user commented on the images to praise both the couple featured, and their son, writing: 'Your parents did a great job, and I hope you all stay together and happy for a long, long time.'

Many of the people commenting on the images were also eager to know what bike his parents can be seen riding in each of the photos.

While he wasn't sure of the exact make of the vintage bike used in the original shoot, noting that it was 'his uncle's', the poster revealed that the newer model is a 1996 Harley Heritage Softail.

One beady-eyed bike enthusiast was more than happy to help out with identifying the older model however, commenting on the images: 'Honda CL350, Likely 1968-69. Just in case you're wondering what the old bike is.'

The sweet images have, unsurprisingly, received an outpouring of praise on Reddit, with many users complimenting the couple on such a long - and what appears to be incredibly happy - relationship.

'So adorable. I love seeing happy couples,' one person commented, while another added: 'Tell them I said congrats for not being a statistic! And happy anniversary.'
