Sean Stewart showed off his spontaneous side as he stepped out with his mystery girlfriend on Friday.

The 34-year-old son of Rod Stewart obliged the brunette beauty with a piggyback after enjoying lunch together in West Hollywood.

The reality TV star didn't exactly have to worry about any heavy lifting of his svelte partner, although her long slim legs did stand a chance of reaching the ground from her elevated position.

Sean couldn't keep his hands off his stunning companion, as they kept it casual in outfits which suggest they may have come straight from working out.

He sported a baggy white t-shirt which showed off his tattooed arms, and rolled-up tracksuit bottoms.

A splash of colour came courtesy of a pair of neon bright training shoes, while he let his floppy hair style hang loose.

He was arrested in March after it was alleged he hopped onto the luggage carousel at Miami International airport.

The star's son, who has been arrested before, was locked up at the nearby Miami Dade County Jail overnight.

It's not his only brush with the law - in 2010, he was pulled over for a traffic violation and, when the police officer discovered he was driving with an outstanding warrant for a suspended license, he was immediately arrested and taken to Beverly Hills jail before later being released from jail after posting $40,000 in bail.

In 2002, he was jailed for 90 days for attacking a man outside a nightclub.

And in 2007, he was charged with attacking a couple with a brick after being denied entrance to a Hollywood party.

The following year, he was accused of stealing his ex-girlfriend's car after their relationship ended.

He joins his sister Kimberly to represent the Stewarts in the fly on the wall show Stewarts & Hamiltons - which teams up the blended families of their mother Alana Stewart and her ex-husband George Hamilton.

Rod and his wife Penny Lancaster aren't expected to appear in the show but it will also feature the actor Hamilton's children, Ashley Hamilton and George Hamilton Jnr.

E! promise that the series - which premieres on July 26 - will be a chance to 'see behind the gates and beyond the red carpet of this iconic blended family which could only happen in LA'.
