Bamber slaughtered family with 25 bullets then told girlfriend 'It's all going well': After years of investigation a leading author reveals exactly what happened on night of the White House Farm massacre

Author Carol Ann Lee tells what happened on night of White House Farm massacre

EXCLUSIVE: Next month sees the 30th anniversary of one of the most brutal crimes ever seen in Britain - the cold-blooded slaughter of three generations of his family by Jeremy Bamber, who stood to inherit the family fortune. Now crime writer Carol Ann Lee has reinvestigated the 1985 murders with Bamber's full co-operation and offers an alternative history of events. In it Bamber (pictured far left after his arrest and top right with his girlfriend Julia Mugford at the family's funeral) claims that his schizophrenic sister Sheila Caffell (middle image far left with her then husband Colin Caffell and father Nevill Bamber, centre far right) killed their parents and her six-year-old sons, before turning the .22 rifle (bottom right) on herself. He continues to protest his innocence. Lee studied thousands of documents and interviewed detectives who worked on the case to create this reconstruction of what really happened at White House Farm. And she concludes there can only be one killer...

Teacher wins £1.5MILLION payout after having her arm twisted by 'violent' head and a tennis ball thrown at her in front of pupils in row over netball practice

Teacher wins £1.5m payout after having her arm twisted by 'violent' head

Karen Hall (pictured) said the headmistress at West Cornforth Primary School twisted her arm and threw a tennis ball at her in front of her class in 2004. Her massive payout follows an 11-year battle over bullying claims following a row with her headmistress over a netball practice. Despite winning an initial tribunal in 2008 and resuming her job, the bullying continued and she lost her job. At an appeal earlier this year over the size of the damages, Mr Justice Langstaff, head of the Employment Appeal Tribunal, said: 'The astonishing tale... reflected very little credit on the local authority or the management of the school.'

Was THAT Nazi salute filmed by the Queen's own father? Palace says future George VI 'highly likely' to have shot images as it launches probe to establish whether leak was 'criminal activity'

Was THAT Nazi salute filmed by the Queen's own father?

Buckingham Palace is urgently trying to establish whether 'criminal activity' was involved in the leaking of the controversial images as it emerges future King George VI (right) could have been the man behind the camera. Sources said there were fears the 20-second film dating from 1933 may have been copied or stolen by a member of staff at a Royal archive then sold to a newspaper. Surprisingly, the Palace is unaware of exactly where the clip came from, with one senior courtier saying: 'Nobody is familiar with this footage.' In the film, the seven-year-old Princess Elizabeth (main, second from left) is seen giving what appears to be a Nazi salute with her sister Margaret (second from right), their mother (left) and their uncle, who would become Edward VIII (right).

The image of Queen Elizabeth as an 18-year-old in wartime ambulance service uniform is more reflective of her reputation than that of her giving a Nazi salute as a child, writes Sarah Bradford.

Is THIS the moment Edward forced Mrs Simpson to 'Sieg Heil'? Picture shows Duke raising Duchess's arm in salute to crowds on visit to Italian island in 1938

Is THIS the moment Edward VIII forced Mrs Simpson to 'Sieg Heil'?

Edward VIII (right) admired Hitler, calling him a great leader, and was intrigued by the way he turned an economic disaster into a thrusting state, writes Andrew Morton who discovered the photograph. It shows the then-Duke and Duchess of Windsor (left) on their yacht after a visit to the Italian island of Ischia. Edward grabbed her right arm, forcing her into a brief Nazi salute. This comes as a video from 1933 appears to show then-seven-year-old Queen Elizabeth, her sister Margaret, mother and Edward VIII giving a Nazi salute in the gardens of the royal retreat of Birkhall in Scotland.

Shortly after breakfast I spotted a blob on the horizon across the sparkling Mediterranean sea, writes IAN BIRRELL(pictured bottom left in white protective clothing). Within minutes came confirmation: it was another boat packed with terrified migrants, 30 miles off the Libyan port city of Zuwara. This was a nightmarish glimpse of Europe's migrant front line: desperate people chancing their lives with callous human smugglers as they flee poverty, repression and war. There were 414 people stacked like sardines on this stinking boat's two decks - most of them, it transpired, escaping the chaos engulfing Libya. I clambered aboard and spent about four hours helping them off - the first reporter to assist an entire rescue operation of one of these lethal migrant boats. That same day another similar cargo of human beings sunk, the corpses washing up later on the Libyan coast.
