What a dummy! Mel Gibson cuddles up to his famous waxworks pals as he takes daughter Lucia on day out in Sydney... but does he let her visit his Mad Max figurine?

He might have been born in New York but Hollywood A-lister, Mel Gibson, is Australian raised and so is ensuring he shares some of his culture with daughter Lucia.

The Braveheart star, 59, was spotted showing the adorable five-year-old around Sydney on Saturday, even hitting up popular tourist spot Madame Tussauds.

The proud papa stopped to take a picture of his little one posing with a wax work of Formula 1 driver, Mark Webber, at the door of the venue in Darling Harbour.

Even though Mel features inside as Mad Max, he was said to have avoided the figurine.

An onlooker told Daily Mail Australia there was 'no celebrity treatment' for the star and his girl.

Mel managed to avoid all 'camera managed opportunities' and later took Lucia into the gift shop.

He tried to go incognito on the day out in a peaked cap pulled down over his face and dark sunglasses.

He added a heavy black jacket with the collar pulled up around his face and blue jeans to keep the chill off on the winter's day.

Lucia, his eighth child but the only one from his relationship with Oksana Grigorieva, looked adorable on the walk in a bright pink bomber jacket.
