Crusaders make changes for Chiefs clash

Coach Todd Blackadder has made three changes to his starting line-up for the Crusaders' third-round Super Rugby match against the Chiefs in Hamilton on Saturday.

Nepo Laulala comes in for suspended prop Owen Franks, out for two weeks, with Alex Hodgman joining Joe Moody as cover in the reserves.

Loose forwards Jordan Taufua and Luke Whitelock have switched positions, Taufua starting against the Chiefs as Whitelock takes a seat on the bench.

The final change is at fullback, Tom Taylor pulling on the No.15 jersey to give Israel Dagg more time to recover from a quad strain.

Halfback Andy Ellis is set to make his return to Super Rugby if he gets a run off the bench, with Mitchell Drummond again starting behind the scrum.

Crusaders: Tom Taylor, Robbie Fruean, Kieron Fonotia, Ryan Crotty, Johnny McNicholl, Colin Slade, Mitchell Drummond, Jordan Taufua, Matt Todd (captain), Richie McCaw, Scott Barrett, Luke Romano, Nepo Laulala, Ben Funnell, Wyatt Crockett. Res: Codie Taylor, Joe Moody, Alex Hodgman, Jimmy Tupou, Luke Whitelock, Andy Ellis, Nathaniel Apa, Nafi Tuitavake.
