Snoop Dogg puffs on a suspicious cigarette in an England football shirt at Mutiny Festival

He was famously banned from the UK for two years, but Snoop Dogg was back and performing in his own unique style at Mutiny Festival, Chichester, on Saturday.

Puffing on a suspicious looking cigarette as he performed at the seaside music event, the 43-year-old rapper looked as if he was getting into his groove before headlining Lovebox in London later that day.

Showing his love for the Brit crowd, Snoop donned an England football shirt as he toked on the funny-looking rollie whilst making a very special appearance at the South Coast festival.

The Young Wild & Free artist, who makes no secret of his love for 'weed', was seen taking a pause from his MC-ing duties to enjoy a toke or two while he performed at the festival - held at the Fontwell Park racecourse.

But while the crowd at the festival were certainly pleased to see Snoop, residents of the village of Frontwell were reportedly not pleased that festival organizers had managed to book the rapper for a short set ahead of his headline slot at Love Box in London.

Villagers were worried that Snoop's West Coast, hip-hop stylings would shock and offend children and adults deep into the night.

But despite the rapper - who briefly changed his name to Snoop Lion in 2012 - appearing during a special daytime slot at the event, the inhabitants of Frontwell revealed their opposition to the event earlier in the week.

Accountant Keith Hood, 57, told the MailOnline recently: 'Parents with young children don't want to hear expletives being belted around the village. Snoop Dogg is probably as violent as my cat - he's very vicious.'

But while it is certain that some residents will have been left unhappy with the rapper performing on their doorstep, event organisers for Mutiny pulled off a coup by hosting the rapper hours before he closed Love Box Festival.

Snoop, who closed the final day of the London-based Love Box, headed up a stellar bill of hip-hop and indie-dance darlings.

Hitting the stage in Victoria Park later that day, Snoop looked on fine-form as he wowed the crowd.

At one point in his set, however, the rapper did look slightly distracted, as a scantily clad dancer writhed around next to him.

The first day of the East London event saw the like of Ella Eyre, Cyprus Hill, Mark Ronson and Goldie take to the stage - while Snoop closed the Saturday leg that featured the likes of Jessie Ware and Hot Chip.

Ella, 21, was one of the stand-out sets on the opening day of the Victoria Park event, and took to the stage in her usual energetic style.

Wearing a figure-hugging jump-suit, the Deeper singer cut a stylish figure as she teamed the cosmic-print garment with a jacket made of feathers.

Hiding her eyes from the London sun in a pair of mirrored shades, Ella pranced and popped about the stage as she belted out her hits to the crowd in East London.
