Louis Tomlinson has been pictured arriving in Los Angeles as he takes a brief break from One Direction's world tour.

The 23-year-old singer, who is reportedly set to become a first-time father with his former flame Briana Jungwirth, was spotted travelling in a private jet from Canada, no doubt on his way to visit the fashion stylist in her home city.

The 1D heartthrob, who has yet to comment on the explosive rumours that have sent fans into a frenzy on social media, seemed in great spirits, grinning as he comes to terms with the life-changing event.

Pictured: One Direction's Louis Tomlinson has been sighted arriving in Los Angeles on a private jet on Sunday, presumably to visit his former fling Briana Jungwirth, who is said to be 12 weeks pregnant with his child

This will no doubt be a flying visit for Louis, who is in the midst of 1D's mammoth On The Road tour with his bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Liam Payne.

The boys last performed in Vancouver, Canada last Friday and are next set to take to the stage in Edmonton, Canada, this coming Tuesday, so the return to the States appears to be purely for pleasure.

It's been alleged that Louis is planning to purchase a gated home for Briana and their child in order to ensure maximum privacy once the baby is born, so he could very well have been touring potential properties.

When contacted by MailOnline, a spokesperson for Louis didn't reveal the nature of Louis' visit, simply saying, 'He is on tour with One Direction in the USA'.

Louis looked excited about the prospect of potentially paying a visit to former fling Briana, who is alleged to be around 12 weeks pregnant with his child.

Louis split with girlfriend Eleanor Calder earlier this year after four years together and it wasn't long before the star was spotted enjoying nights out in Los Angeles with a string of different girls at various nightclubs and parties.

Briana was a constant fixture, however, and the pair are said to have enjoyed a brief relationship in May.

The LA-based budding stylist and 1D heartthrob are no longer a couple but they are thought to be expecting their child in 2016.

The Kiss You hit-maker's mentor Simon Cowell appeared to confirm the news on Sunday when he revealed he had told Louis to count his blessings and 'man up'.

The X Factor boss opened up about the situation for the first time in The Sun on Sunday, explaining that he offered the young singer practical advice.

Simon told Louis to embrace the positives of having a child, saying, 'You're fortunate because you're in a position to be able to look after the baby and not worry about too much else'.

The talent show guru is adamant the unplanned pregnancy won't tarnish the boy band's family-friendly image, joking to the paper's Dan Wootton, 'He didn't kill anyone, he just got someone pregnant.'

It was also reported over the weekend that Louis could be set back up to £10million when the baby is born, with child-support and maintenance bills potentially amounting to £20,000 a month.

A source told the Daily Mirror: 'This is a case of a very short-term thing that will end up costing Louis around £10million. But he knows this is his responsibility.'

Last week, Briana's father admitted to MailOnline that the publicity-shy blonde - who has virtually no social media presence - had become overwhelmed since being thrust in to the limelight.

'The publicity and everything, it can be overwhelming,' Joe Jungwirth said from his home in South Dakota.

'Briana's really shy, she's strong but shy, she's tough but shy and she's having a tough time with it, it's stressing her out right now, she's texting me all the time.'

While Joe is excited about the prospect of becoming a grandfather, Briana's stepmother fears having a baby with Louis will 'ruin' her life.

She said: 'Last night in the middle of the night in my anxiety I was like, I'm not gonna look again, because it's too weird these days, what things are said on Twitter, it's just crazy stuff.'

Meanwhile, Louis' immediate family - comprising his midwife mother Johannah, stepfather Mark Tomlinson and six siblings - have yet to comment on the news, but his estranged dad Troy Austin revealed he would love to make amends and be part of his grandchild's life.

The Brit singer's mother Johannah and step-father Dan have also reportedly met Briana's parents, with an insider claiming the two families enjoyed a July 4 weekend together.

A mutual friend of the pair insists that while Louis and the stylist aren't in a relationship, the singer will be a 'hands-on dad' when their baby arrives early next year.

'Louis is happy and very excited about becoming a dad and he thinks Briana will be an amazing mother. It was a surprise at first, but he and Briana are very, very close friends and this has brought them even closer,' the source told People when the news first broke.

Louis, who has spent much of his recent time off from the band in LA, is reportedly already making plans ahead of the birth, and has been on the hunt for properties near Briana in California.

Meanwhile, his ex-girlfriend Eleanor has gone noticeably quiet on social media since the rumours emerged, but a friend People: 'Eleanor knows and she's fine.'

The Manchester University graduate, who turned 23 last week, has been holidaying in the US with friends, so it's also possible Louis could be paying her a visit.
