SIMON JONES: Paris Saint-Germain have made a surprise £6million bid for Tottenham midfielder Benjamin Stambouli.

The 24-year-old has been talking to Watford after they agreed a £4m fee with Tottenham two weeks ago.

Stambouli rejected an approach from hometown club Marseille because he wanted to continue in the Premier League.

The 19-year-old striker has signed a three-year deal at the Liberty Stadium and will link up with the club's Under 21 squad.


SAMI MOKBEL: Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson has agreed a new five-year contract - but will join West Ham on season-long loan deal.

As Sportsmail revealed last week, the right-back had held talks over a new deal at the Emirates Stadium.

And he will sign fresh terms which will expire in 2020 on an increased wage of £45,000-per-week.

Who needs quality, when you can have quantity? Manchester United may have signed two big names today, but Hamilton have added FOUR new additions to their squad.

Former Hearts and Raith Rovers striker Christian Nade and Latvia left-back Antons Kurakins are among those announced by the Scottish Premiership side, along with Gramoz Kurtaj and Norwich City's 19-year-old striker Carlton Morris.

Former Arsenal forward Andrei Arshavin joins Kuban Krasnodar after Zenit release

Former Arsenal forward Andrei Arshavin joined Russian Premier League team Kuban Krasnodar on Monday after leaving Zenit St. Petersburg.

The 34-year-old Arshavin won his third Russian title with Zenit last season but was a fringe player in Andre Villas-Boas' team and departed when his contract expired at the end of the campaign.

He joins a Kuban team which struggled last season with a below-expectations 10th-place finish in the league amid reported financial problems.


But this is about as close as you can get to it being a done deal. The official announcement that Robin van Persie has left Manchester United for Fenerbahce is expected at around 4pm tomorrow.

Speaking of new deals, Scott Dann has also signed one for Crystal Palace

Jason Denayer has signed a new five-year contract with Manchester City.

The Belgium international, 20, spent last season on loan with Scottish Premier League champions Celtic and made his debut for Belgium against Israel in March.

He made 44 appearances in all competitions for Celtic last season, scoring six goals and claimed the SPL Young Player of the Year award, as well as the club’s own Young Player of the Year award in the process.

That's because the Red Devils are still in heavy pursuit of Sergio Ramos, in addition to the signings already made in Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin, Matteo Darmian and Memphis Depay.

It's not just Man Utd. West Ham are also active in the market as the Hammers make progress in trying to land Mattia Destro.

The Italy international was left behind from Liverpool's tour to Singapore alongside Fabio Borini and Jose Enrique who are all looking to sort out their next moves.

Brighton lead race to sign £1.5m Blackburn winger Ben Marshall

SIMON JONES: Brighton have made a £1.5million bid for Blackburn Rovers winger Ben Marshall.

The 24-year-old former Manchester United trainee is regarded as one of the best wingers in the Championship.

He joined Blackburn from Leicester for an initial £750,000 in 2013 and Rovers now need to sell to help alleviate the restrictions of their transfer embargo.

SIMON JONES: Roma are pressing for an agreement with Manchester City over the sale of Edin Dzeko.

City have dismissed Roma's proposal of £14million saying they want £20m for the Bosnia striker.

However, as City prepare for the arrival of Raheem Sterling from Liverpool, Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini flew out for Manchester in the hope of reaching a compromise on Sunday night.

Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has said it was an 'honour' to manage Manchester United-bound Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Schweinsteiger is set to join United for a fee in the region of £15m and touched down in England to complete a medical on Sunday.

The German international has spent 17 years with Bayern, and Guardiola admitted it was the World Cup winner's decision to leave.

Or maybe that should be 'DUN DEAL'. Ok, ok that was poor, but back to the matter, Dundee United have signed former QPR defender Coll Donaldson on a three-year-deal.

The 20-year-old was released by the Hoops last week having only arrived at Loftus Road last year in a £150,000 deal from Livingston.


Whether the former Barcelona goalkeeper can or not is another matter.

Right now he is behind David de Gea in the pecking order, but should the Spaniard depart as expected to Real Madrid he will be unchallenged for the jersey...

Manchester United went big last summer with signings including Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao (well, at least his eye watering wages), and they are at it again.

Memphis Depay (£25m)are Matteo Darmian (£13m) are done deals, while along with £14m Schweinsteiger it looks like Morgan Schneiderlin will also sign for £25m from Southampton, with the France midfielder having had a medical on Sunday.
