He originally dropped out just one-and-a-half credits shy of achieving his degree.

But Josh Duhamel returned to Minot State University – the local college in his rural Nebraska hometown – 13 years later and completed his education via online courses.

On Sunday the 42-year-old actor was spotted representing his alma mater as he went for a jog and ran errands in Los Angeles while wearing a collegiate t-shirt.

Duhamel grew up in the small town of Minot North Dakota and later went on to study at the university.

While attending, the actor played quarterback for the football team, hoping to one day go pro.

He then wanted to go on to dentist school but he dropped out – planning to return later – because his GPA wasn’t high enough to go where he wanted.
