True Detective delivered a string of bad news to Ray Velcoro as the HBO series skipped ahead on Sunday after last episode's bloody gun battle.
Ray, played by Colin Farrell, quit the Vinci Police Department and started working security at the Vinci Gardens Casino two months after the police shootout and hostage drama dubbed the Vince Massacre.
His hard knocks started coming early as his former boss Lieutenant Kevin Burris dropped by asking questions about his dead task force colleague Detective Teague Dixon.

Burris also revealed that the Vinci row houses were reserved for municipal employees and gave Velcoro 60 days to move out.

California Highway Patrol Officer Paul Woodrugh, played by Taylor Kitsch, faced blonde Hollywood actress Lacy Lindel, played by Ashley Hinshaw, who accused the officer of accepting sexual favors.

Tough times: Ani and Ray admitted they'd been drinking more since the shootout
