Her fans have urged the star to speed up work on her highly-anticipated new album.

However, Rihanna seemed more than relaxed as she hit the recording studio for a late night session on Friday.

The stunning pop superstar, 27, appeared to be dressed for bed as she arrived for a stint in front of the mic at 3.30am.

Maybe Rihanna was on her way to a pajama party? We're not sure what the songstress was doing late at night baring her goods, but we're guessing she was looking for some T.L.C. from a B.L.T.?(That's the only reason we'd jump outta bed at night)

RiRi wore silk pink heart printed pajamas along with a sheer under-wire white lace bra, and fuzzy pink sandals. She accessorized the ensemble with a drink in hand...seems like she's channeling her inner Hugh Hefner.

The bra may be sheer, and we wouldn't advise you to dress it like Rihanna but it's sexy and why not feel sexy underneath your clothes?

Showing off her taught stomach and tattoos by leaving her gown open, the star carried a drink as she strutted along the street in a pair of retro fluffy heeled slippers.

Just in case passers-by didn't realise who she was as she made her way across the road, she wore a necklace with her surname 'Fenty' on it.

Guiding her into the studio was a beefy security guard, who seemingly chose to match his charge by wearing a pink polo shirt.

The late night session comes amid reports the singer is not satisfied with the sound on her upcoming seventh album R8, her first record in since 2012's Unapologetic.

She has already released singles FourFiveSeconds, a collaboration with Kanye West and Paul McCartney, and B**ch Better Have My Money, but has been left unhappy about a lack of potential mega-hits among her new material.

A source told New York's Page Six: 'The singles haven't caught on. She'll be fine because she's Rihanna - but it's not a good thing that the songs haven't stuck.

'She released [the songs] because she felt really passionate about [them] and felt an urgency to get them out to her fans.'

Meanwhile, insiders claim the star is more focused on building her fashion empire, starting with clothing line $CHOOL KIlls.

The source told Grazia magazine: 'She is on the verge of launching an accessories line, which is part of her plans to grow her own fashion empire.

'In recent months the singer has taken a step back. Rihanna has allowed hermusic to take a bit of a back seat because she is in the process of launching herself as a serious fashion designer – starting with an accessories line.'
