Wearing a sun hat to protect her face from burning, the blonde bombshell made the most of her break from training, luxuriously reclining on a white towel in-between trips to cool off in the sea.

Making sure to avoid any unsightly tan lines on her bronzed body, the tennis star placed her faith in the clasp of her top, pulling down her shoulder straps to expose her shoulders and collar bones.

Whilst Maria's low-slung and form-fitting bottoms showcased her enviable and pert derriere as she wandered to and from the sea.

The leggy beauty, who is currently ranked number two in the world, showed off her toned thighs as she reclined and stretched out on her sunlounger in the company of a female friend.

The tennis player - who is the current holder of the loudest grunt in the world of women's tennis, at 101 decibels - looked to be enjoying her chance to relax in the sun, just a week after crashing out of the semi-finals at Wimbledon last weekend - when she was beaten by bitter rival, Serena Williams.

Reading a magazine and applying some all important sunscreen, it wasn't long before the active sports star had to check-in with the outside world by checking her smart-phone.

Growing restless in the blazing heat, the naturally pale beauty took a paddle in the gently lapping waves of the sea.

Encouraged by her friends playful antics, the statuesque sports star - used to being photographed at matches and on endorsement shoots - took a turn behind the camera, and snapped some shots of her posing pal.
