Blake Shelton, 39, and Miranda Lambert, 31, have split after four years of marriage.

The Voice star secretly filed for divorce two weeks ago, according to TMZ, and a judge made it official on Monday. The couple are understood to have a pre-nup in place; she'll keep their marital home in Nashville while he gets to keep their Oklahoma ranch.

Soon after news broke of the filing, the country stars released a joint statement: 'This is not the future we envisioned and it is with heavy heart that we move forward separately.'

On July 8 Lambert canceled her concert at the Calgary Stampede because she's suffering from vocal cord issues. The singer was due to perform at Alberta, Canada's signature event but with just a little more than 24 hours to go she pulled the plug at her doctor's advice.

Lambert had 'serious inflammation' of her vocal cords and in a statement she told her Canadian fans: 'I'm so sorry that I can't be at Stampede this week, but I'll be back in Calgary just as soon as I can for all of my Stampede fans.'

It is not know if her illness was in any way related to her split from Blake.

They were last on the red carpet on April 19 at the 50th Academy Of Country Music Awards in Arlington, Texas.

They also both performed at Stagecoach that month and they did the same on July 3.

On Saturday Miranda - looking skinny in a pink top and tight jeans - appeared to break down in tears at the Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming.

The CMA favorite was singing a ditty that Blake had given her called The House That Built Me.

She was seen wiping away tears from her eyes and then she asked the audience to help her finish sing it, according to TMZ.

Blake was last seen with Clint Bowyer during the opening ceremonies for the NASCAR Sprint Cup series auto race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire on Sunday.

Miranda told Marie Claire in December, 'I’m not sunshine and roses. Blake’s the happiest person on the planet. He pulls me out of my darkness… Literally, everything is the best about being married.'

In the May issue of Country Living, she said there was nothing better than spending quiet time with Shelton on her ranch. 'My husband Blake and I live in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, which is roughly two hours from any major city. There’s just a peace that comes with country life,' she said.

The two married in May 2011 in Texas. She wore a white dress and he a grey blazer with matching vest, jeans and cowboy boots.

The crooners collaborated musically often. They co-wrote the emotional hit song Over You about Shelton’s late brother Richie.

The couple last month featured on Forbes' list of the world's highest paid celebrity couples. They came in third place on the list with combined earnings of $57 million last year.

Blake's finances were bolstered by him playing more than 40 solo gigs over the course of the year, while his wife enjoyed major success with her award-winning record Platinum.

It was long rumoured that the two were having marital issues.

According to the outlet, Lambert’s' desperation to have a baby' - and Shelton’s partying — 'led to a confrontation that has ripped apart their three-year marriage.'

A source said at the time, 'Friends think it’s the end for Blake and Miranda. Miranda gave him an ultimatum to shape up or ship out. She told him she wanted to start trying for a baby soon, but that he had to clean up his act first.'

But the couple turned the report into a joke.

Shelton quickly tweeted, 'Me and Miranda are reading about our separation... Sh**! I hope I get all the liquor in the divorce!!'

Miranda retweeted, 'Don't you guys separate every 6 months, and have a baby ever 3 months?' She then added, 'Yes, it's very exhausting!!'

In 2013 Blake talked to People about trust.

'[I tell Miranda], "I have nothing to hide from you." That's always been our policy: "Here's my phone. Go through it." … That's really the kind of trust we have … There are no secrets. [I'll say], "Go dig through my drawers or my computer if you feel like you need to." And that's been a really good thing, because I don't want her to ever have any doubts.'

The two hit makers did not have children together.
