Ryan Seacrest left 'naked and bleeding' after outdoor shower glass door shatters on him while vacationing in Mexico

Ryan Seacrest went on Jimmy Fallon and compared notes with the late night host about their recent injuries.

Fallon is wearing a cast on his left hand after nearly losing his ring finger in a freak accident at his home a few weeks ago.

But Seacrest, 40, had his own tale of woe to tell about how a glass shower door shattered on him while naked during a recent trip to Mexico, cutting his head and hands.

The radio and TV personality recounted how he was spending a couple of days at his favorite hotel, Las Vantanas al Paraiso in Cabo San Lucas.

He noticed his room had an outdoor shower and never having used one before, he decided to have a go.

'So I went out. I did an outdoor shower. I was so happy with myself,' Seacrest said.

Then disaster struck.

'I'm pulling the glass door shut and as I'm pulling it shut, I yank it and it breaks into a thousand pieces. And it showers on me, completely naked, standing there,' he said. 

Luckily, he wasn't badly hurt but he did show off a cut he still has on his right hand. 

Fallon asked him which emergency room he went to following the accident, and the E! producer joked that he treated his injuries at the hotel's tequila bar

Meanwhile, Fallon, 40, returned to his late night show after a two-week hiatus as a result of his hand injury.

He spent 10 days in the ICU at Bellevue Hospital after tripping on a rug at his New York home on June 26 and catching his wedding ring on a countertop as he fell, yanking out his ring finger.

'So I'm getting up and my finger's sideways. So I go: 'Oh, my God! Did I just break my finger? This is the lamest thing in the whole world',' he told the audience.

'It completely looks fake, like in a cheap horror movie where you see a broken finger. It looks like that! That's what it looks like.

Fallon went on: 'So I wrap my hand in a towel and I get in a cab and go to the emergency room. I go: 'I broke my finger! I think I broke my finger!' And they go: 'Oh, you didn't break your finger.'

It turns out what he did was something called ring avulsion and usually it results in having to have the finger amputated.

But Fallon underwent six hours of microsurgery which resulted in the surgeon being able to save the appendage using a vein from the comedian's leg.
