'Ready to move on': Rod Stewart's ex-wife Rachel Hunter is looking for love... six years after her heartbreak over being dumped before her wedding to Jarret Stoll

Model mum Rachel Hunter is on the hunt for love.

The 45-year-old blonde bombshell says that after years of heartbreak, including being dumped just weeks before her 2009 wedding to Hockey player Jarret Stoll, she's ready for a new romance.

Speaking to New Idea magazine in an interview published on Monday, the New Zealand's Got Talent judge said, 'I was blindsided after what happened with Jarret, but added: 'I'm very open to the idea of meeting someone.'

'A new relationship would be a great antidote to the "empty nest syndrome" I feel now the kids have grown up and flown the nest,' she joked of her two children with ex husband Rod Stewart - Renee, 23, and Liam, 20.

Rachel began dating NHL star Jarret not long after 2006 divorce from Rod (although their nine year marriage ended in 1999).

They dated for two years before the Los Angeles Kings player popped the question and the couple bought a home together in Hermosa Beach, LA.

However the Canadian sports star, 13 years her junior, called off their planned 2009 nuptials just seven weeks before the wedding.

The then 27-year-old Jarret gave no reason for calling off the pair's engagement and left the mother-of-two devastated.

Before Jarret, the lingerie model also dated fellow hockey star Sean Avery between 2004 - 2005 and has also been linked to Robbie Williams and Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin.
