Fantasia Barrino has married her fiance Kendall Taylor in an intimate ceremony over the weekend.

The American Idol winner took to Instagram to share a variety of snaps after the big event which took place on a yacht on Saturday evening.

Alongside a sunset snap of the newlyweds embracing, Fantasia wrote: 'Those who really know me know that I LOVE Water.. Can you see it? How Happy I am.. This Man.. God made him just for Me and me Just For Him.'

She continued: 'This Man allows me to just be a woman.. No more Hurt because King Kendall will never let that happen.. I'm off to just kiss, Hug and play in some water with This Man.. Look at Him in the pic YEP!! HE COVERS ME..

'Be Happy with me you guys cause I've been thru SOOOOO much. Some stuff was my wrong decisions but all I ever really wanted was this.. Real Love. This Man and this smile is real... Later you guys bye bye for a while.. God did not forget about me....'

Fantasia looks radiant in the waterside image and is seen in a beautiful lace gown and jeweled headband clutching a bouquet of red roses.

As well as the romantic photo of the duo, the 31-year-old shared images of her wedding cake and table decorations in her favourite colours black, red and white.

'How do we thank each and everyone who made Our Day one of the most unique and memorable days we will ever share,' she wrote on Instagram.

'To those who texted, called, or prayed during this week and up until today... Know that we love you and we know that if we had more capacity you would have been there, but you were still there in spirit... Now... We are The Taylor's.... Here we come!'

The North Carolina native first revealed her weekend wedding plans on Monday when she showed-off her trim physique in gym-wear on social media.

The mother-of-two captioned this snap of Kendall on Sunday 'You are my Best Friend... And your All MINE... KING KENDALL'

She wrote: 'I know @sosonya15 BOUT TO KILL me today for my Big Wedding Day on SATURDAY OMG!!! I NEVER THOUGHT THIS WOULD HAPPEN FOR ME,'

She added: 'Im going to stay Tight and Right for him.. Mr. Taylor. You guys I'm so happy and excited...'

The couple were engaged in November 2014 with Fantasia announcing the news with an Instagram photo of her stunning ring.

The singer has had her ups and downs since winning American Idol in 2004.

Two years ago she lost a battle to keep her North Carolina home that had been the subject of foreclosure since 2010.

She was also accused in court of being a homewrecker and breaking up the marriage Antwuan and Paula Cook.

In August 2010 Broadway star Fantasia was hospitalised in North Carolina after overdosing on prescription medication - later publicly acknowledging that it was a failed suicide attempt.

Fantasia has a three-year-old son, Dallas and teenage daughter Zion from previous relationships.
