Last September, her father Antony Kidman died suddenly at the age of 75.

And even months after the untimely loss, Nicole Kidman still has trouble talking about her beloved dad.

The 48-year-old actress is featured on the cover of the August issue of Vogue magazine and in the magazine's pages she talked about several topics including her latest project The Queen Of The Desert, marriage with Tom Cruise and living in Nashville with her kids and husband Keith Urban.

The Australian actress might be nearing 50, but she looked younger than ever here on the front of Vogue magazine's August edition.

With her flawless complexion, tiny frame and of course that gorgeous dress, Nicole smouldered on the prestigious fashion magazine's cover.

Just days ago Marc Jacobs himself uploaded this gorgeous shot, so we knew that Nicole was bound to be wearing a dress by the designer and we were proved right as we scoured his Fall 2015 collection.

The heavily embellished dress contributed to his stunning collection for this coming autumn and the heavy design and deep hues will be perfect for the colder season.

However, the discussion hit an emotional high-point when it focused on the family tragedy as the author notes that Nicole's eyes began to well up when talking about her father.

'You've caught me at a time when I’m still recovering and in grief,' the Oscar-winning actress said. 'There are times you go, "Gosh, I wish I could just go and hide in a hole and never come out."

'And then you go, "That was yesterday." I have a four-year-old and a six-year-old, and just hearing their laugh... it’s life in its most powerful form.'

Psychologist and biochemist Antony passed away suddenly in Singapore following a suspected heart attack.

Though she did have trouble talking about that tragic loss, she did talk openly about the joys in her life including her relationship with country crooner Keith Urban.

She gushed about her husband of nearly a decade and even shared her feelings about watching an impromptu jam session during a recent night out with the 47-year-old musician and friends.

Nicole raved: 'I looked up at him at one point and I saw his tattoos and his foot going, and he had the guitar, and I was like, "I love that man. I’m so glad I’m in this world."'

On the front of the monthly fashion magazine, the Moulin Rouge! actress looked glam in a sequined black number featuring a backless cutout.

As she will soon be seen in biographical drama Queen Of The Desert, the photos accompanying the article show her in the barren area.

The Australian beauty could be seen in a rather chic ensemble inspired by Victorian-era fashion as she plays English writer and explorer Gertrude Bell in the upcoming highly-anticipated biopic.

As Nicole lives in Nashville, Tennessee with Keith and children, she stresses that it is important that the family maintain their privacy in the social media age.

While discussing how the new and upcoming actors and actresses handle so much media attention, she briefly brought up her relationship with actor Tom Cruise as they were married from 1990 to 2001.

Nicole commented: 'When I was with Tom, I don’t remember paparazzi sitting outside our house... not like now. This is different.'

To go along with the latest issue of Vogue, the publication released a video featuring 73 rapid-fire questions posed to the Eyes Wide Shut actress while on her farmhouse property in Australia.

She also said she would like a postcard with her secret sent to Jimmy Fallon as earlier this year it was revealed that the chat show host blew his chance to date her during her January appearance on The Tonight Show.
