Former AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has threatened to bash both a cameraman and his own bodyguard in an expletive-riddled confrontation at his waterside mansion in New Zealand.

Rudd, 61, exploded with rage as he arrived home from his latest court appearance, to find the 3 News NZ cameraman waiting outside.

The veteran rocker gets out of his sports car and is seen to move menacingly in the direction of the camera operator with a bag in hand, telling him to 'get out of my f***** way'.

As he struggles with the combination needed to open his front gates he turns back towards the man who is still filming.

'Remove him from my property now, remove him now or I'll f***** do it myself,' Rudd orders his bodyguard.

His security man tries to calm him down and is heard to say 'just nice, nice, be nice' before Rudd returns to the locked gate and calls for help to get inside.

But his tirade doesn't stop there.

Rudd loses his cool again, this time with the man who is protecting him.

His frustration at being unable to gain entry boils over, he lurches forward once more saying 'get that f***** or I'll bash him myself, you hear me? Do what you gotta do, go do it or I'll bash you'.

He then drives off daring the cameraman to follow him.

Rudd was back in Tauranga District Court on New Zealand's North Island on Thursday accused of breaching the conditions of his sentence for threatening to kill and drug possession.

He is accused of breaching the restrictions placed around his home detention sentence by possessing and consuming alcohol.

Rudd was granted bail.

The veteran rocker has lived in Tauranga for more than 30 years. He is appealing his eight month sentence

He is appealing the eight month sentence after admitting to charges of threatening to kill and possessing methamphetamine and cannabis.

As part of his sentence he is electronically monitored at his Tauranga waterside mansion and must also complete a rehabilitation program.

Rudd pleaded guilty to the charges in April, acknowledging in a court summary of facts that he'd offered large amounts of cash, vehicles and a house to an associate after asking him to have the victim "taken out."

He also acknowledged that he'd directly said to the victim he was going to kill him.

Judge Thomas Ingram warned Rudd at his sentencing he would be jailed if he was found with any traces of drugs or alcohol in his system.
