SEBASTIAN SHAKESPEARE: Another red-haired admirer for Cressie

Fresh from her successful performance in the West End play An Evening With Lucian Freud, Prince Harry’s ex Cressida Bonas has been treating herself to a luxurious holiday on Necker Island.

The 26-year-old actress flew out with her mother Lady Mary Gaye Curzon to celebrate Sir Richard Branson’s 65th birthday on Saturday.

Richard’s son Sam, 29, shared this picture on Instagram of his sister-in-law Cressida holding a red ruffed lemur.

‘Smally Boots has made a new friend,’ he wrote, to which Cressida playfully responded: ‘I wanna squeeze it!’

What WAS Wolf Hall star saying to Zoe?

She might be an award-winning actress but even Zoe Wanamaker couldn’t hide her concern when she caught up with fellow thespian Mark Rylance at Sadler’s Wells on Sunday.

The daughter of late director Sam Wanamaker was talking to Rylance at the afterparty of The Car Man.

The 55-year-old Wolf Hall star is arguably the most brilliant, and eccentric, actor of his generation. A self-confessed pagan, he believes in crop circles, turns for guidance to Chinese I Ching divining dice and doesn’t believe Shakespeare wrote any of his plays.

No wonder Zoe’s brow was so furrowed.

Marr: Leave Farron alone

The new Lib Dem leader Tim Farron is being pilloried for his religious beliefs after refusing to say whether he thought gay sex was a sin.

But he has at least won the sympathy of Andrew Marr after appearing on his TV show on Sunday.

‘It’s too early to tell how well he will do in his position, but he’s getting a lot of stick for being Christian, which I think is really unfair,’ Marr, 55, tells me.

‘As a politician you wouldn’t get that reaction if you were Muslim or Sikh or some other religion. For some reason the electorate seem more comfortable with being prejudiced against Christian politicians.’

Greasy does it for model Erin

Fashionistas are rarely seen tucking into a greasy plate of fish and chips, so supermodel Erin O’Connor attracted more attention than most when she ordered the dish . . . for breakfast.

Even her friend, hair stylist Sam McKnight, was surprised, questioning her choice on social media. ‘Shoddy I know but ’tis the weekend, non?’ replied the 6ft model and mother-of-one.

At least Erin didn’t take a cue from another infamous British model and order a liquid breakfast.

Bryan Ferry’s son Otis takes hunting mighty seriously.

He once went to jail following an altercation with a group of antis. He has even said he’s prepared to die for his cause. So imagine his fury last week when Queen rocker Brian May helped scupper David Cameron’s plans to relax the Hunting Act.

‘I’m disappointed that a small band of campaigners like hyped-up ex-musicians have derailed the amendment,’ he fumes. ‘David had sensible proposals.’

David? Bet the PM’s thrilled barmy Otis is on first-name terms . . .

Relinquished from the shackles of government, former Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg has joined the lucrative after-dinner speaking circuit.

Cleggy has been signed up by News Presenters, a speaking agency founded by former BBC journalist Mary Greenham.

According to its website, Clegg ‘remains an outspoken advocate of civil liberties and centre ground politics’. Don’t all book at once.

Princess Diana’s friend Lord Palumbo, who turned 80 yesterday, blew out the candles on his classic Cadillac-shaped cake surrounded by his family — except, of course, for his son, Ministry of Sound founder James.

They haven’t spoken for 20 years since James accused his father of plundering £30 million from the family trust and frittering it away on wine, cars and property.

James, now a Lib Dem peer, is not above squandering money himself. During the 1997 election, he lent Peter Mandelson his chauffeur-driven limo.

BBC cricket correspondent Jonathan Agnew had a torrid time last week.

Not only was there the row about him not wearing a tie at Lord’s, but he had burst pipes, his wife’s 50th birthday to arrange — and a rat invasion to conquer.

He resorted to traps only to find his rodents, as befits a BBC employee, have upmarket tastes. Ordinary chocolate, which usually attracts vermin, was unappealing, so Aggers tried After Eights.

The body count is now rising.
