But Hollywood actress Kristen Stewart rocks a grunge-inspired look for her role in forthcoming action thriller American Ultra, which hits screens this summer.
And, in new marketing material for the film - including a fresh trailer, she can be seen brandishing neon-dyed hair and a retro plaid shirt, as well as an arsenal of kick-ass weapons.

In the recently-released teaser clip for the film, which is out in the USA on 21 August, the Twilight star is a shadow of her red carpet self in the role of Phoebe.
Sporting neon-coloured hair with roots and an alternative sense of style, she looked more like a character from acclaimed 90s TV series My So-Called Life.
But, actually, the 25 year-old is the main star to the projects's male character, portrayed by Jesse Eisenberg.

Directed by British talent Nima Nourizadeh, the film tells the tale of a 'stoner' whose past comes back to haunt him when he becomes the target of a government operation.
In one scene Kristen can be seen looking studious as she takes a phonecall from her boyfriend who, while working in a 7/11 - has just killed two police officers.

The twist seems fitting given that movie database IMDB claim the project has been rated 'R' for 'strong bloody violence, language throughout, drug use and some sexual content'.

But, rather than implements for enlightenment, Kristen's on-screen alter ego carries a loaded gun, a grenade, a cigarette and a bong to take on the establishment while under the influence.
Wearing a pair of rolled-up jeans, tan leather boots and a crop top emblazoned with the film title, she was certainly on-message for the comedy-infused project.
