Finally! Miley Cyrus endures a home grooming session with a grimace after being named host of MTV VMA 2015

Miley Cyrus rebelled against the norm and let her armpit hair grow out for months.

Now that the 22-year-old Bangerz singer has been chosen to host the MTV VMAs next month, the primping preparations are apparently underway.

Miley caused a few shrieks and shivers as she posted a particularly painful photo of her getting her hairy armpit waxed on Wednesday.

She, too, was grimacing and baring her teeth, her right arm raised high while her female friend started to pull off the adhesive.

'R.I.P P.I.T,' Miley captioned the gruesome shot, which caused one follower to write, 'NOOOOOO,' while another shouted, 'Ouch!'

Miley, who has never been shy about showing off her body in various forms of undress, was clothed this time in a clingy black mesh tank top and pajama bottoms patterned with red cherries.

She took time to pose provocatively with hands on hips and her feet cushioned in a pair of fuzzy slippers, her hair pulled up high in a tight topknot.

Another Instagram share featured Miley hamming it up with a cigar hanging out of her mouth and a pink bathrobe draping off her shoulders.

After Monday's announcement that she would host the cable channel's best in the music video program, the Wrecking Ball star shared the news in her unique, out-of-this-world way.

'MTV won't let me perform so I'm hosting this year's VMAs,' Miley captioned a dual picture of her wearing a green alien suit and brandishing placards.

As the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus and goddaughter of Dolly Parton, one would expect Miley to give her most awesome best on August 30

Miley stole the headlines for her two previous VMA appearances, including her most famous 2013 stage display that saw her twerking with a 'foam finger' alongside Robin Thicke.

And then last year Miley invited homeless youth Jesse Helt to be her date for the evening and sent him out to accept her Video Of The Year award for Wrecking Ball on her behalf.

Once on stage, the long-haired Jesse spoke of the plight of homeless youth in Los Angeles, and asked fans to donate money to their cause via Miley's Facebook page.

Miley's Happy Hippie organization was born to offer support services to those less fortunate.
