Republicans Growing Tired of Own Leadership

After massive Republican victories in the 2010 and 2014 elections, the American people thought that the radical Obama agenda would be slowed down, if not halted.  Now that Congress was in control of the Republicans, common sense would return to government – at least that was the belief.

But, things have not turned out that way.  The Obama agenda continues to roll over rights and freedoms unabated.  All the Republican leadership can do, it seems, is wring its hands and apologize; sometimes issuing terse criticisms of the Obama Administration after being bested by Obama and his people once again.

Now, new surveys are out which show that the rank and file of Republicans are reaching their limit with the tepid, compromised leadership they have been stuck with to this point.

The Washington Examiner has the first survey:

The favorability rating of the Republican Party has taken a sudden plunge, and is now at its lowest level in six years driven by a growing negative view of the GOP by party members.

A new Pew Research Center poll found that the Republicans and Democrats were both at 41 percent favorable just six months ago and now the GOP is down to 32 percent and the Democratic Party at 48 percent.“The Republican Party’s image has grown more negative over the first half of this year. Currently, 32 percent have a favorable impression of the Republican Party, while 60 percent have an unfavorable view. Favorable views of the GOP have fallen nine percentage points since January. The Democratic Party continues to have mixed ratings (48 percent favorable, 47 percent unfavorable),” said Pew.

And it’s not just Democrats. The Republican flock also is growing tired of the party’s leadership.

Said Pew: “The survey, conducted July 14-20 among 2,002 adults, finds Republicans, in particular, are now more critical of their own party than they were a few months ago. About two-thirds (68 percent) express a favorable opinion of their party, the lowest share in more than two years. Six months ago, 86 percent of Republicans viewed the GOP positively.”

It is no wonder Republicans are growing tired of the limp-wristed leadership of “Gentleman Johnny” Boehner and “Twitchy Mitchy” McConnell in both Houses of Congress.

Under their control, nothing has been done to stop, or even slow down the radical left-wing agenda of President Obama and his socialists.  They have utterly failed the American people in defending freedom and individual rights from an out-of-control federal bureaucracy.

Breitbart has another survey about the Party’s dissatisfaction with its leaders:

The conservative activist group Citizens United is releasing a new poll of its membership, which surveyed some 4,000 activists across the country. Just two percent approve of the job Congress is doing. More than 90 percent want their Member of Congress to replace current House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH).

“After four and a half years as Speaker, it’s become crystal clear that grassroots conservatives are through being patient with John Boehner,” David N. Bossie, president of Citizens United, said in a release. “Conservatives are clearly ready for new leadership in the U.S. House.”Republicans reclaimed the House majority after the 2010 midterms elections, largely on opposition to ObamaCare and a failed economic stimulus package.

Since Republicans took control of the House, the nation’s total debt burden has grown almost 40 percent, rising from around $13 trillion in 2010 to $18 trillion today.

The complete lack of confidence in Speaker Boehner’s leadership is likely to translate into political headaches for Republican Congressmen in districts nationwide. Full survey results are available here.

No wonder Boehner is so unpopular.  He’s done little more than punish conservative Republicans who have opposed his draconian leadership and begged Democrats to support his “moderate” agenda.

What few bills Boehner has managed to get through the House, he has needed to cross the aisle and get Democrats’ support for passage.

Who knows what is motivating Boehner and McConnell to go against the wishes of the American people.  Perhaps it is political bribes from special interest groups.  Perhaps the Obama NSA has dug up considerable dirt on each.

But, the reasons don’t really matter.  When any leader becomes so compromised that he feels forced to go against his own people, he needs to step aside.

Americans want nothing less of Boehner and McConnell.

If America is to be saved from Obama’s “fundamental transformation” into socialist tyranny, new, aggressive leadership is required in the GOP.  These two are not the leaders to take America into its future.
