'I don't like the music that I'm hearing because all it's talking about is hos, and clothes, and money. So I'm going to make my own music. I don't like the clothes that I see because they're hella small.'

He continued: 'It's different for everybody. Being a MSFT is somebody that's like, "I'm not gonna conform to society. I'm gonna be a divergent thinker" - someone who thinks of multiple solutions to one problem.'

Rap pioneer Grandmaster Flash is overseeing The Get Down, which centers on a rag-tag group of South Bronx teens who witness the birth of the punk, disco, and hip-hop scenes first-hand.

'In the short time [Jaden] has joined our acting family, he has begun developing his The Get Down skill set,' the Oscar-winning filmmaker told EW in a statement.

'[He's] taking lessons from the legendary graffiti artist Lady Pink of Wild Style fame, as well as steeping himself in the history and culture of the Bronx.'

Smith previously acted opposite his famous father in The Pursuit of Happyness in 2006 and the dismally-reviewed After Earth in 2013.
