A dairy-ing maneuver! Kevin Bacon, 57, is beaten by a boy, 7, during charity ice cream eating challenge
You would think only A Few Good Men would be able to beat Kevin Bacon in an ice cream eating face-off.
But a little boy managed to pull of the trick after he daringly stuck his face into a bowl of the cold stuff during a charity contest in Florida on Monday.
Kevin, who was promoting the Give Kids The World Village charity, adopted the conventional approach by using a spoon during the head-to-head. His more deliberate scoop-and-eat strategy was easily outdone by the seven-year-old Ethan's caveman tactics, however.
Ice cream of the crop: This boy beat Hollywood star Kevin Bacon in a charity eating contest on Monday
A beacon of magnanimity: The Footloose favourite was only to happy to applaud the young winner
Before the contest started, father-of-two Kevin said: 'Ethan here thinks that he can eat more ice cream than me, so he's challenged me to a contest.
'For the next six seconds we are going to battle it out and the winner gets bragging rights, the loser gets to give six bucks to Give Kids The World.'
This is of course a reference to the famous Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon game, in which any Hollywood actor can be linked to another in a handful of steps based on their associations with the Apollo 13 star.
Just before the contest began the 57-year-old Footloose favourite looked slightly panicked when he discovered his challenger was going to adopt the no-spoon approach, however he gave it his best shot anyway.
Magnanimous in defeat afterwards, he said: 'Here's your winner. I never had a chance.'
Pre-contest face-off: The pair tried to psych each other out in a stare down beforehand
The final countdown: There were just seconds to go before the thrilling contest began
And they're off: Kevin adopted the tried-and-tested scoop and eat approach while Ethan went full caveman
The Hollywood star the tried to position the contest as 2015's answer to the Ice Bucket Challenge, with the loser also having to pony up a donation.
The X-Men: First Class star said: 'Ethan and I challenge you to take the challenge yourself.'
This time the fundraising will benefit the Give Kids The World Village, a nonprofit resort for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
Last year the the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge went viral with stars such as Chris Pratt, Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Wayne Dobson, and even former President of the United States George W Bush taking part.

Below the belt: Sneaky Kevin tried to get in an extra mouthful at the end but it was to no avail
Champ and chump: Ethan had all the bragging rights but at least the actor did not have to towel down
Who needs the Ice Bucket Challenge: Kevin has challenged everyone to try the charity face-off themselves
