She must think she's wheely cool! Now Lily Allen copies the latest celebrity trend as she rides £1,185 self-balancing scooter while smoking

Lily Allen got in on the latest celebrity trend on Monday when she chose a self-balancing scooter as her mode of transport while in New York.

Giving her legs a little break, the mother-of-two, 30, was pictured travelling on the £1185 IO Hawk board - a mash-up of a skateboard and a Segway.

The device, which is controlled by leaning and tilting the body is favoured by the likes of singer Justin Bieber, who has a PhunkeeDuck branded version, as well as Brooklyn Beckham.

Lily used the board with ease and even puffed away on a ciagarette as she did so, while balancing a green Chanel rucksack on one shoulder. 

She also held her headphones in one hand as well as a bag from upmarket candle and perfume store, Dyptyque and a blue leather number. 

Wearing a pair of baggy blue jeans, Lily looked every inch the skater girl as she stood on the board which has a maximum speed limit of 6.2mph (10km/h).

She wore a purple and white vest top and a pair of crisp white Nike air trainers while soaking up the sunshine. 

Her peroxide blonde locks were held in place with a lycra headband and earlier on in the day, Lily posted a picture of herself sunbathing to Instagram, writing: 'Hello NY.' 

She also shared snaps of herself wearing a baseball cap which had 'Drake knows' written on the front, writing: 'Got a lotta energy,' in a take on the rapper's lyrics, 'got a lotta enemies...'

The London-born star stepped away from the spotlight in 2011 to marry her builder boyfriend Sam Cooper and start a family.

And now she's back on the music scene she's determined to keep her relationship alive.

'The secret to any relationship is: stay in love!' she enthused to Germany's August edition of Cosmopolitan. 'But I think we're only at the beginning. Five years are nothing. I won't start worrying until we're 50.'

Sam and Lily started dating in 2009, married two years later and welcomed their first daughter Ethel in November 2011. Their second daughter Marnie followed in January 2013.
