Bobbi Kristina had a history of falling asleep in the bath after partying too hard, it was revealed today.

Investigators are trying to work out why the 22-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston died. She spent six months in a medically-induced coma after she was found in a bathtub in her Atlanta home and died at a hospice on Sunday.

Now sources within the police have claimed the night before her mother died, Bobbi Kristina had been 'extremely drunk' after the pair had been partying together.

She drew a bath in her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, in Beverly Hills, LA, but had fallen asleep in the tub, waking up to find the room had flooded with water, law enforcement sources told entertainment website TMZ.

And on February 11, 2012 - the night that superstar singer Whitney was found dead in the bath at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Bobbi Kristina suffered acute alcohol poisoning and was rushed to hospital.

At the time, Whitney's publicists claimed Bobbi Kristina had suffered from exhaustion.

The revelations could be used to support Bobbi Kristina's boyfriend Nick Gordon, who was named a 'person of interest' by police in her death but denies any wrongdoing.

Police reports taken when she was discovered in the tub showed bruises on Bobbi's face and arms, leading to suspicions of foul play.

But the medical examiner's preliminary report following an autopsy on her body found no obvious evidence to suggest this.

Sources speaking to TMZ said Jose Baez, the solicitor representing Nick Gordon, knows what happened the night before Whitney's body was discovered.

He would use the information to attest that Nick was not involved in her death, and instead Bobbi Kristina had accidentally fallen asleep in the bath.

Yesterday the Fulton County Medical Examiner issued a statement, saying the autopsy did not reveal any obvious cause of death and additional laboratory testing will have to be conducted.

It said the conclusion of tests may take 'some weeks' and a death certificate will not be issued until all inquiries had been completed and reviewed.

'Interpretation of autopsy findings and other information will also be challenging,' the medical examiner's office said.

'However, an autopsy could be helpful to address questions which may arise about the cause of her unresponsiveness and eventual death.

Meanwhile the final heartbreaking moments of Bobbi Kristina's life have been lain bare, as her devastated family stood around the 22-year-old's deathbed at the Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia.

Her relatives - including father Bobby Brown - held her hand and said 'Hallelujah' when she passed away, while a picture of her late mother was placed on the bedside table.

Bobby broke his silence to pay tribute to his daughter, saying that the pain of losing Bobbi Kristina was 'uniaginable'.

He said: 'Krissy was and is an angel.

'I am completely numb at this time. My family must find a way to live with her in spirit and honor her memory.'

Kristen Foster, a representative for the Houston family said on Sunday: 'She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.'

Michelle Gordon, the mother Nick Gordon, said in a statement Monday night that the death of Bobbi Kristina has devastated her son and the rest of their family.

'Nick loved and cared for Krissi deeply, and he has suffered greatly each and every day they've been apart,' she said.

'Nick and our family are in mourning, and we ask that you respect our privacy.

'Our thoughts and prayers are with both the Houstons and the Browns during this difficult time.'

Bobbi Kristina's funeral is likely to take place in August at Fairview Westfield Cemetery in Newark, New Jersey, where her mother and grandfather are buried.

However it will only be arranged after inquiries by the coroner and detectives is finished.

A celebration of her life is provisionally planned for Thursday in Atlanta.
