They've been married for 10 years, but things are still clearly going well for Willem Dafoe and Giada Colagrande.

The happy couple looked to be thoroughly enjoying their beach holiday in Otranto, Italy together on Monday, as they splashed about in the sea.

Willem, 60, showed off his trim physique in a pair of simple black swimming trunks, while his stunning wife Giada - who, at 39, is 21 years his junior - displayed her slim curves in a red bikini.

The Italian director/actress flaunted her enviable frame in the tiny two-piece, revealing her youthful figure and also her confidence as she flashed a warm smile at nearby beach revellers.

The couple were also happy to greet some fans who had recognised them, the Hollywood star and his spouse chatting away to them while in the shallower depths of the sea.

While taking their dip in the cool waters under the mid-summer Italian sunshine, Willem - who is best known for his roles in movies such as Platoon, Spider-Man and Finding Nemo - shared a laugh with one female fan in particular.

Clad in a black bikini, the women and the actor seemed familiar as they indulged in a joke.

But once the fans had left them to their day, the couple put on a sweet yet chaste display of affection as they continued to soak up the beauty of their location.

The smitten couple celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary this year, and it certainly seems they are still well and truly in the honeymoon phase.

It was no doubt a welcome break for the pair, who have been busy in their respective careers.

Last year saw Oscar-nominated actor Willem - who has one son from a previous relationship - appear in six movies, including big-hitters The Fault In Our Stars, John Wick and The Grand Budapest Hotel.

And this year he's busy working on several other films, one of which is the hotly-anticipated Finding Nemo sequel, Finding Dory, in which he is the voice of Gill.

Meanwhile Giada scored a success with her 2013 release The Abramovic Method, which was unveiled at the Venice Film Festival.

Although they keep their relationship relatively low-key, Willem - who married Giada just one year after they met - previously shared details of his romance with the Italian beauty in an article written for The Guardian.

The lovestruck actor explained: 'I met my wife on the street in Rome in 2004. I knew of her because I'd seen her films and we had some mutual friends.

'Getting married was very impulsive and romantic. We were having lunch and I said: "Do you want to get married tomorrow?" I called up City Hall and they said: "If you get here in the next couple of hours, you can register and then you can get married tomorrow." So we ran down there.

'We married the next day with just two witnesses, our best friends: my manager and her editor.'
