Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth are thrilled to be able to stop hiding their romance, now that the Bachelorette season finale has aired.

And the newly engaged couple didn’t waste any time getting started with the public displays of affection.

Kaitlyn and Shawn stopped by Good Morning America in New York City on Tuesday, and stole a few kisses in Times Square before heading into the studio, where they discussed their wedding plans.

Hours after appearing on the Jimmy Kimmel show in Los Angeles and promising him $1,000 if she splits from Shawn Booth, Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe was planting one on her new fiance in the middle of Times Square in New York. She drew a crowd thanks to her fame and dramatic ending to the ABC show's Monday night finale. But that was only part of the appeal.

Some people wanted to gawk at her $150,000 engagement ring by Neil Lane, the show's most expensive rock to date. The couple – who got engaged on Monday night’s finale of the hit ABC dating show – looked very much in love as they held hands and wrapped their arms around each other.

Kaitlyn was a gorgeous sight in a skintight little white halter-neck dress by Elizabeth And James, with cut-out sections on the stomach and a high hemline to show off her slender legs.

The 30-year-old also sported a pair of heeled sandals, smoky eye make-up and shiny pink lip gloss, styling her brunette hair in sexy waves.

But the most show-stopping part of Kaitlyn’s look was her $150,000 3.5-carat diamond engagement ring from Neil Lane, which is the most expensive ring on The Bachelorette to date.

Shawn stayed right by his bride-to-be’s side, looking hunky in a blue suit and skinny tie with a white shirt and black dress shoes.

The couple revealed on the show that they are in no rush to tie the knot, and haven’t even thought about planning a wedding at this point.

‘Right now we’re just so excited to finally be able to hang out and do things in public, but more importantly we just want to spend some time with our friends and family first,’ Shawn revealed.

‘We’re going to do that for the next month – go to my hometown, go to her hometown, and kind of relax, and then start figuring out the long-term plans.

Kaitlyn added that they are hoping to decide where they want to settle down after visiting both cities.

‘He’s never been to Vancouver, I’ve never been to Nashville,’ she admitted. ‘So we’re kind of going to do both and figure out where we want to be. Either one I’m not going to be upset with.’

She reiterated that you won’t find her looking at wedding dresses just yet.

‘We’re really excited to be engaged and be cute,’ Kaitlyn said. ‘It makes little things more exciting now, to be out in public and just go get coffee, and that fun stuff.’

The reality star, who says she is ‘not good at keeping secrets’, insisted Shawn was always the one for her, but the Bachelorette tried to ‘confuse’ her about her feelings.

‘I think from night one I was like, OK!’ Kaitlyn shared. ‘Obviously you go through the show and I think they try and confuse you, but the whole time I just kept being like, “Nope, still thinking about Shawn.”’

Inevitably she was asked how it felt to come face-to-face with runner-up Nick Viall once again on Monday night during the After The Final Rose special.

‘I actually just sat there, he did most of the talking, it went exactly how I thought it would and it was done like that,’ Kaitlyn said as she snapped her fingers, eager to change the subject.

The brunette said she wasn’t surprised to see Nick toss away the engagement ring he picked out for her after he was sent home in the limo, instead saying: ‘I thought it was kind of funny.’

Shawn, who never saw eye to eye with the two-time Bachelorette reject, teased: ‘A weak toss – that’s expected – I would have done overhand. He would go underhand!’

Before wrapping up the interview and heading to a stint on Live! With Kelly And Michael, both Kaitlyn and Shawn said they are voting for Ben Higgins to become the next Bachelor. ‘Hands down. He’s the guy for sure,’ Shawn said.

On Live!, the pair discussed why they think they can beat the Bachelor odds and be one of the couples that makes it.

And if I’d met her out at a bar, I’d have had the same feelings. I guess it’s different, but I’m sure the people before us said the same thing, I guess we’re just going to have to wait and see.'

He briefly tried to claim to the hosts that he tried to play hard to get, although Kaitlyn quickly said that was far from the case, and then admitted that they secretly wrote letters to each other every day during the show.

Shawn - who also revealed he only watched the parts of the show in which he and Kaitlyn were together, and not when she was with other men - also had a message for his future wife's cyberbullies.

'I would just say, don’t be so quick to judge somebody in a situation that you’ve never been in or you can’t relate to, because nobody can understand what it’s like to go through what we went through unless you’ve been there before.

'It’s a crazy, crazy experience, the emotions are real. It’s intense, and unless you’ve been in that situation don’t be so quick to judge, because nobody’s perfect. There’s going to be mistakes, and I challenge anybody to go through something like that and not make any mistakes.'

As for rumours that Kaitlyn will be appearing on the next season of Dancing With The Stars, she said: 'As long as we have time to be engaged and have our relationship first. If I started tomorrow, I wouldn’t do it, because I think we need to put our relationship first. But later down the road I would be very excited to do that.
