Pierce Brosnan channels his inner country gent in a gilet as he bids farewell to his native Ireland after I.T. filming wraps

He's traded his small town country roots of Navan, County Meath in Ireland for Hollywood life.

But Pierce Brosnan, 62, was sad to leave the capital Dublin on Wednesday after filming wrapped for his latest acting project I.T.

And, having slipped back into customs, the James Bond actor shed his slick image for something more rustic and weather-ready when he was seen leaving Ely Wine Bar for the last time in a padded gilet and walking boots.

The silver fox smiled as he headed for a waiting car, not before being ambushed for an autograph.

Earlier that day he'd tweeted: 'Good bye my sweet home of Ireland that I can call you now after all these years abroad a wandering...'

Pierce has been 'home' filming the John Moore-directed film since June and he will star as Mike Ryan in the new thriller.

He also said on Wednesday: 'That's a wrap on my movie "I.T." And good bye Ireland you beautiful Colleen...'

'To one and all who stood shoulder to shoulder in making this movie.... My love and thanks'

He has been seen capturing scenes with on-screen wife Anna Friel and a young actress who is thought to play his pre-teen daughter.

Brosnan will take on the role of a book publisher seeking revenge thriller against a threat to his wife and family.

The actor evidently hadn't forgotten his real-life family because he brought along wife Keely and delighted in showing her some of the sights in his native Ireland.

Pierce stopped by the famous rock from Camelot, directed by Mr John Boorman, which sits in a valley called Luggala.

He also took Keely back to one of his favourite childhood spots, gushing with pride about seeing her in such a spot.

'It took me the world to find her,' he said. 'And there she was today down the country lane of my childhood memory leaning lovely against the wall ...'
