He has an absolute doppleganger in the form of his teenage son, Jack.

And Gordon Ramsay and his 15-year-old mini-me looked utterly identical as they posed for a fun Instagram snap from their Los Angeles home on Tuesday.

The 48-year-old celebrity chef and his young double looked more alike than ever as they showed off their muscular physiques in matching workout gear.

Both sporting sleeveless blue vests as they crossed their arms over their chests, the Hell's Kitchen star and his son showed off the fruits of their labour in the gym.

Standing in the kitchen of their Los Angeles home, the dashing dip grinned into the camera after appearing to have worked up a sweat on yet another workout session.

Former professional footballer Gordon captioned the image: 'Somebody's catching me up...'

The healthy father-son duo have a passion for fitness and completed a gruelling triathlon together earlier this month.

And the uncanny resemblances between the Scottish chef and his son don't end at looks or pastimes either.

Following in his father's footsteps, Jack has developed a close-friendship with one of the Beckham family, Brooklyn, 16.

While Gordon and Beckham patriarch David are close friends, their sons are also best pals.

Hitting the ever-popular celeb fitness haunt, Soul Cycle, in West Hollywood, the fashionable teens both cut cool figures as they made their way to their workout in fluorescent trainers.

But while the Ramsay family might be enjoying the sunshine and finery of LA living, it looks as though Gordon is still keen to keep the family grounded.

Snapping a cheeky picture of his doppelganger, the Kitchen Nightmares chef showed that despite their famous friends the Ramsay brood isn't beyond housework.

Capturing a grumpy-looking Jack tidying his room and bed, the chef once-again showcased his wry wit, writing: 'Jacks finally making his bed...'

Although the Ramsays certainly might have trouble telling Gordon and Jack apart in the future, it is 13-year-old Tilly who is following her father into the world of food.

The teen who Gordon affectionately refers to as his 'Sous Chef' will showcase her culinary skills in a brand new CBBC series titled Matilda & the Ramsay Bunch.

Cooking simple, fun recipes like burritos and cupcakes in the kitchen of their holiday home in the US the show is aimed at promoting cooking to a whole new generation.

Gordon, who is famed for his short temper and potty mouth, insists however that his daughter won't be following his lead and swearing in the new show, telling the Daily Mail: '[My children] know I’ve said bad words. I say it is an industry language.

'They don’t swear. They don’t walk around shouting the f-word.'

Aside from Jack and Tilly, Gordon also raises eldest daughter Megan and Jack's twin sister Megan with wife Tana.

My sous chef! But while Jack may be the spitting image of Gordon, it is his younger sister Tilly who is following in their father's footsteps, as she has just landed her own cookery show on CBBC
