She's looked as if she was trying to go incognito while strolling with fashion writer Derek Blasberg in New York City on Tuesday.

Dakota Johnson, 25, not only wore a brown Indiana Jones style hat, but also a dark pair of sunglasses.

The 50 Shades Of Grey star seemed to be in good spirits as she took the day off from beau Matthew Hitt.

She also slung a chic light grey Chanel purse over her shoulder, and rolled up her tight jeans to fully expose her stylish black flats.

The star added a playful flair with her lime green nail polish, and also appeared to have skipped the makeup routine for the day.

Following the journalist's lead, Dakota wore the stylish number over her shoulders.

Derek sported a casual pair of grey jeans, a matching shirt, and a pair of suede loafers.

He also clutched a brown paper shopping bag and tucked a pair of sunglasses into his top.

At one point, the writer was unable to contain himself as he bursted out into laughter.

Derek has made a name for himself as a writer after graduating from New York University in 2004.

Dakota has just finished up filming the 2016 movie How To Be Single, in which she starred alongside Rebel Wilson, Alison Brie and Damon Wayans.

She's set to appear in Black Mass - the biopic about the recently caught Mafia leader, Whitey Bulger - alongside Johnny Depp, Benedict Cumberbatch and many others.

Dakota also has the 50 Shades Of Grey sequels all lined up for the coming years.

The daughter of actors Melanie Griffith and ex-husband Don Johnson, Dakota reflected on how she gravitated towards acting in an interview with Vogue.

'I just assumed that what I would be doing is making films because I grew up around people making films, making art, making music,' she told the publication.

'And being on a film set is the most comforting thing in the world to me. Seeing a catering truck feels like home.'
